NDIS what the heck?

The one thing I thought both major parties agreed on, can it get any worse?

Yes, they will make sure not many people will get anything and "save" heaps;  I was being sarcastic.  But the maternity leave pay stays; obviously Joe knows who is more important.  😞

The only thing that I am surprised is that some people really thought the LNP does care about disadvantaged people in the community.

Joe Hockey promises to deliver NDIS, signals rollout changes after budget blowout

"We are determined to deliver the NDIS but it has to be affordable," he told AM.

"I know it might surprise some, but you can actually deliver a program in full but also make it affordable.

"The bottom line from my perspective is we have to find ways to deliver services within an existing budget framework rather than promise on the never-never things with a blank cheque," he told AM.

Re: NDIS what the heck?

Who knows, they have got themselves into a few messes already.

Public Service Job Cuts (to cost more than $1b)

The MYEFO documents say the Finance Department will pay for redundancies in ''selected agencies'' in 2013-14 and 2015-16 but the full figures for new money to be spent on payouts are marked ''not for publication''.

In his speech in Canberra on Tuesday, Mr Hockey said he regarded the cost of separations of 14,473 public servants as an unfunded Labor decision that had superseded his party's election promise to cut the service by 12,000.

hahahahahaha

but look on the bright side, the insurance companies have all benefited from it and the new legislation and the very root of Negligence Laws have been changed forever, and the insurance companies and their fake insurance crisis are lauighing all the way to the bank at the expense of the general public.

Spoiler
but I'll refrain from saying I told anyone so..... ROFL, in its current form as it was "sold" to us and we were all hoodwinked into believing how great it was going to be, it was only ever false promises that could never be delivered or sustained - but hey we was hoodwinked anyways LOLOLOL.... I still think it is sooo shameful that something of such significance was used as a political pawn. It was a pure covert way to implement a new tax that seemed palatable to a voting public. That irks me, playing games instead of just calling it as it was. I would have had immense respect for "folks, we have to increase the medicare levee to provide the decent healthcare that everyone is supposed to be entitled to" instead, they just employed underhanded emotive issues to hide the truth.

Re: NDIS what the heck?

wasn't it to paid for from the mining tax?  But that's OK, Joe will just tighten the eligibility bit.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-12-18/coalition-confirms-ndis-may-be-targeted-for-budget-savings/516...

FORMER treasurer Wayne Swan has lashed out at his successor for "dishonesty of the highest magnitude" and fiddling the budget figures, after Joe Hockey forecast four years of deficits amounting to $123 billion. Mr Swan, now a Labor backbencher, has joined colleagues in accusing Mr Hockey of padding out the economic forecasts to paint a bleak picture of the budget. The mid-year budget outlook forecast deficits to 2016-17 of $123 billion, $68 billion more than the pre-election outlook in August. Underpinning the deteriorating figures are growth forecasts well below the long-run average, which Mr Swan said were being used to "make the numbers look as bad as possible". "Out of his $68 billion in additional accumulated deficits over the next four years, $54 billion comes from his forecasting fiddle and the rest is spending decisions he's taken since being elected just over three months ago," Mr Swan wrote on his Facebook page. "He's trying to put these large write downs all at the feet of the previous Labor government.

"This is dishonesty of the highest magnitude."
