NO BOATS or ILLEGALS since December 19 2013
Well done to the Abbott govt
No people-smuggling venture had succeeded in landing asylum seekers on Australia for more than four months, the government says.
In the latest update on Operation Sovereign Borders, Immigration Minister Scott Morrison said on Saturday that vigorous border protection activities was deterring illegal boat arrivals, even into the post-monsoon period when weather conditions usually improve.
Mr Morrison said the practice of turning back unauthorised boats remained in effect.
"Anyone seeking to enter Australia illegally by boat will be faced with the same policies those who previously attempted illegal entry met," he said in a statement.
Mr Morrison said no one had reached Australia since December 19 and that continued this month. But 3351 on 47 boats arrived in April 2013 under the former Labor government. (a Labor Failure their border policy)
The latest Operation Sovereign Borders operational update says there are now 1281 in the processing centre on Manus Island and 1177 on Nauru, making a total of 2458.
Another 1405 remain on Christmas Island. During the last week, eight asylum seekers were transferred to Nauru.
Seven unauthorised maritime arrival transferees were voluntarily returned to Iran.
Since Operation Sovereign Borders started on September 18, 220 asylum seekers have voluntarily returned to their home countries.
Solved! Go to Solution.

No doubt the fact that people arriving on boats get sent to the hell of Mannus island, with no hope to be re-settled in Australia is a big deterrent. When people still in Indonesia hear from their friends about the atrocious conditions in PNG, they do change their plans.

Family reunion scrapped so that will go a long way to stopping the illegal immigrants accessing our country by smuggling themselves in.
The "anchor" syndrome that has been rorted to such an extent that our immigration intake has been flooded with family and extended family and on and on and on and on.
The new super department Minister Morrison is launching will assure that our country is safe into the future from these illegal immigrants and the ramifications extended from their activity.
All the bleating on here is political and nothing more. These illegal immigrants will stop at nothing and no lie or action is too extreme for them.
The majority voted for the illegal trade to stop and the few on here who are disappointed see this is a raison detre to keep up their marketplace of outrage but the rest of Australia has moved on.

Where is Scott Morrison? There are people smuggling allegations he must answer.

The hell that is Manus as all the so called "non partisan" reports we are flooded with should be a sage warning to illegals that their game is up, Rudd negotiated Manus and now the present govt is doing what they were elected to do !!! get it? Elected to do.
As for questions to answer?? who says and who really cares as long as this putrid trade and activity is stopped and stopped for good.
The rage, lies violence we are seeing from the illegals is a sober warning that we don't want this type here and all the c&p flooding every post is ignored, scroll past it, the rest of Australia has.

Most of the world's media recognise that Asylum seekers are not illegals.
Why doesn't this media site?

The rest of the world are now acting on this problem of illegal entry into 1st world countries to access a 1st world lifestyle and all the benefits it offers.
The illegal immigration from people who are not fleeing for their lives but accessing a better lifestyle to the detriment of the target country, they are accessing a 1st world lifestyle but the left wantonly spout differently and is purely political opportunism as we are seeing from the spouting at every occasion.
The illegal immigration catastrophe that befell Australia under labor is now being rectified and stopped.
The illegal immigrants traversed through many countries with wads of cash to deliberately smuggle themselves into Australian under Labor.
Australia and Australians have moved on from this disaster thanks to a sensible government who would no longer be duped by criminals.
Even the Labor party has shut up about it now because they know it's a poison chalice they drank from for 6 years and saw them ousted from office.
The poisonous Greens will always use the tactics of political opportunism and they are seen for the anathema they are but Labor has moved on.

We are alleged to have loaded extra 'Asylum seekers' on a people smuggling boat which was in Australian waters....that could equate to US taking part in people smuggling activity!
Don't you get that?
Asylum seekers break NO LAW by seeking Asylum...no crime has been committed
on their part

Accessing smugglers and paying thousands of dollars to be smuggled into a county is illegal.
If or when they eventually get in they lie, have no papers and are instructed by criminals as to what story they tell to get in.
This is criminal activity, we had been subjected to it for the 6 year Labor was in power but Labor chose to be powerless and paralysed to act.
We have now seen months pass and no boats have accessed our waters let alone breached our borders, no drownings and no loss of life of thousands we were witness to under labor.
One would think that any sane rational person would be glad this illegal trade has ceased.
As I said before, purely political from the bleats.

I don't pay tax for my Government to become people smugglers.
Scott Morrison is showing his usual level of accountability...lets see if his claims are proven wrong

I am glad my taxpayers dollars are no longer used to further the ambitions of illegal immigrants.
My taxpayers dollars are for the betterment for our less fortunate but its alarming some others don't feel that way and would rather billions be spent on trying to usher unfettered illegal immigration into our county.
I an satisfied our government has taken the hard decisions and massive workload to stop the illegal immigration into Australia, they have my support and kudos for their efforts, it's what they were voted in to do and they are doing a magnificent job.
