Mugssy, no, she came out to work and then went back to the UK once a year or so and then came back here again. If it wasn't a 457 visa, it was similar and ... we should be training our own hairdressers.

Don't get me started about visa's at the moment, my Mums sister has just been denied a visa, she is 75 and has no living blood relations in England, she is VERY well off financially and would never be a burden on any of our services. The government has stopped people coming on the last relation visa. Poor old dear is all alone in the world!

IMO the only workers that should be classed in the needed area (of any country) should be professionals such as doctors, surgeons, teachers, real need to have them professions.....you get my drift......

coz seriously - all will come to a screaming halt if you cant have trendy hair do and a letter typed????

That's sad.  She should be allowed to come here to spend her time with her family, especially given she is self supporting.

We have an immigration lawyer it cost her a non refundable 4000 pound to have the lawyer work on her behalf, half way through the process the government suspended all applications. We have done everything possible except gone to the media, that's just not us. It's very sad but what can you do? We just have to wait.
