New Board Usage Policy

Discussion boards usage policy

Does anyone know

1) What is a Community Project?

2) What is a Group Project, and

3) "Posting web addresses (URLs), websites, or item numbers in the title of a post or threaded discussion"

"or threaded discussion" => Does this mean no links to things in our posts?

Ebay Australia

"In the title of a threaded discussion: Posting user ID's in a derogatory manner, posting URLs, item numbers, or web sites, or violating any other board posting policy."

I know in the past, with Liveworld, if you posted a commercial web address (offering items for sale) in a post, the post got deleted. I think they may have been automatically detected as they were removed pretty quick.

The Au policy above does only state 'in the title' though.

Charity projects are community projects

My post about copyright is just that. A post about copyrighted info.. Don't try and make it about anything else/directed at anyone.

Re: New Board Usage Policy

yeah, I know, that's why the "in the discussion" bit has me curious.

Logically, it doesn't apply as we have a link inserty button up the top there (Ironic how they can make those links work,,, but anyway)

But if they bring that in so strictly, then it will make it tricky to provide sources for things etc

And I don't get why we can post the name of a listing but not its item number in the post

Actually, I'm kinda curious about the whole not in the title but it's ok in the post thing. It's either wrong or it's not, I am curious why it matters where it is included

Re: New Board Usage Policy

Debra. - there are 3 headings under Charitable projects - allowed, restricted, not allowed - under discussion board policies.
Allowed is just discussing support for charitable projects ( not selling items etc).
