I thought there was something wrong when I saw all these old posts first up then I saw a new ID had spam replied to them all.

In other sites you don't actually become a member until the email the site sends to the given address is replied to.
eBay should be doing that here. Sure you can keep getting multiple addresses, but it does mean the fake IDs can be traced.
Someone is having fun and games... My ID was stolen not so long ago.... BAH AND HUMBUG

It is more to do with changing your IP address (when one is banned, change to another one) than different email addresses.
Same person, new ID's, bumping all their own threads.
darki.. someone made an ID very similar to yours didn't they? That is not the same as having your own original ID hijacked.

You're right. The ID was not stolen/account hijacked. There are many user IDs very similar to Darki's registered on eBay, with the numbers at the end being the only difference.
I have no doubt the intent was to impersonate but technically, the ID was not stolen. It was not identical.

That won't stop people from registering multiple accounts.
Minimum feedback score would solve the problem or having a registration verification process. For some reason, eBay is not interested.

With darki, only the date on the end was changed, but whoever it was knew alot about her.......stuff not posted on ebay.

for an account to be hijacked someone would have gained illegal access (if permission wasn't given) to someones existing account .
creating a similar id and there are many ebay members around the world with 'similar' ids is not illegal and is not hijacking someone elses account.
The member was using their own account which they are permitted to do...it's the way in which they do it that matters.

i don't think it was a case of knowing a lot about her. someone sent a private message via eBay believing the ID belonged to Darki.
that is how a few details become known. end of story.

Using similar IDs is not 'illigal' but the following is not permitted:
Posting material with the intent to impersonate eBay Staff or another member through the use of similar IDs or any other method or device.
