I don't reckon she was "forced" though. Not physically anyway. Maybe by financial considerations.

I agree. They don't look ugly at all to me.   The darker haired one looks less confident than the other in a lot of photos but I haven't seen any ugly about them.

I think the darker haired princess is quite attractive really but who the hell dresses them?

Mind you, royal fashion in England has always been a bit dowdy and old.  Princess Diana was a standout and Kate is not doing too bad.

It's ok for the male royals because they can just don their military uniforms.
