Investigators are hoping that new information will help solve the mystery of what happened to Madeleine McCann.
The then- three-year-old British girl disappeared six years ago while vacationing with her family in Portugal.
Scotland Yard is planning to release a computerized sketch of a possible person of interest in the case.
Former prosecutor Wendy Murphy joined America’s News Headquarters to discuss the development.
"I’m not buying it. I think this is more PR than anything," Murphy said. "I think this is all related to a civil suit now underway in Portugal."
The McCanns sued the former police chief for defamation because he wrote a tell-all book.
Alisyn pointed out that the McCanns claim the Portuguese police never took the case seriously

why is it the the McCanns have so much power to silence others who discuss a different conclusion to those which they keep broadcasting to the world ?
ANYONE Has the power to sue if they believe they have been libelled.
In this case.the 'different conclusion' you keep referring to wa ss a specific allegation that the McCanns were in some way reponsible for Madeine's death.
The McCanns sued - as was their right -and won. Goncalo Amaral is appealling the court's decision - as is his right.

One of the worst, if not the worst thing that can happen to a parent is to lose a child by death. For a child to be abducted and not found dead or alive for 6 years must be excruciatingly painful for his/her parents.
For peole to spread unfounded rumours on the net that they think the parents killed their child is completely heartless, as if they don't have enough to cope with. That is assuming the McCann's are innocent because there has been no proof they are not, they have never been arrested and charged for their daughters disappearance.

I read those particular dogs were taken out of British Service. The owner still hired them out though, but not in official service.
I am not sure if new sniffer dogs replaced them or not, for official service, or what their % rate of success has been.

Am3 , have I said that anyone is guilty or innocent ? Either could be contempt of court..they keep telling us they are innocent and that others are guilty .
I don't wish to attack the parents or defend them either. The daughter they are telling the world about and asking for support to help is more important than them .
Scotland Yard changing the timelines is interesting...people would have signed official Police Statements with previous timelines wouldn't they ?

I think you are/have totally missed the point with the timeline change. As I have explained it more than once, I am not going to do it again.
The McCann's also have two other children.. who wants to grow up, coming across blogs/websites reading your parents murdered you sister? .. completely untrue and unfounded but may sow seeds of doubt in their (the other siblings) minds.

If the parents were not pushing so hard and raising money for it, everyone would have forgotten about this little girl by now. Do we know the names of all the other missing children?
Only 2 come to mind for me....... Daniel Morecombe (since found) and this little girl.

What is so extraordinay about that? If they know they are innocent, what else would you expect them to say.

Why? and by whom would they have been proven innocent?
Courts of law reach the decision of who is guilty or innocent (if a person has been charged) not bloggers.
