OMG I've Run Out Breadcrumbs!

Didn't feel like walking up to the shops so I crushed some cornflakes. To crumb the fish. For fish n chips.

The old-fashioned way, with a rolling pin between two layers of grease-proof paper lol

Hope hubs doesn't notice but I think he will.

Will keep you posted.

Icy. If you have three slices of bread, tear them up into medium size pieces, throw them into the food processor with some salt, pepper and any herbs you have then whizz the heck out of them.
Three slices should cover enough fish for 3-4 people.
I have'nt bought breadcrumbs for years.
When you get to the last 3 slices of bread whizz them, stick into a kliplock bag and stick in the freezer.
They thaw out as soon as they hit the air.
They turn crunchy and golden brown when cooked.

Sorry I didn't get back to you last night re your good tip, Jean.

Unfortunately (or fortunately). I don't have a food processor.

I gave away a lot of my electrical appliances when I downsized about 10 years ago. Now I just have the microwave , a juicer and an electric handmixer.

The only food processor type thing I would buy if I saw again is the small one that slices and grates then deposits into a side bowl.  brilliant device and doesn't take a whole cupboard on it's own for storage.
