Double-dealing reveals Abbott's failings
It would be troubling enough if Tony Abbott's shilly-shallying on electoral reform had merely killed off hopes of making overdue changes to the nation's electoral laws.
But it has shredded his credibility too. Credibility he had steadily rebuilt since admitting to routinely gilding the lily, to not always telling the ''Gospel'' truth unless he was delivering scripted comments.
...
This whole affair has shown politics at its worst.
A secret deal between sworn enemies, bound together by financial self interest, is a woeful look.
The fact that the alternative prime minister openly pretended to be uninvolved, and then simply reneged on a signed agreement, raises genuine questions of trust and reliability.
But perhaps the most troubling lesson from the whole tawdry affair, is what it says about Abbott's unpreparedness to argue for unpopular reforms, should he become prime minister.

His entire persona is a lie, because he is attempting to hide his nasty reality. That's why he won't go on qanda or face up to real interviews. Even when he does doorstops, he ignores questions that are critical.
Name any pollie that does not evade any hard question that he/she does not want to answer with an answer that goes round and around and around in circles without saying anything at all and also changes the question into something he or she really wanted to impart.
They are a breed and if not that way when they enter politics they sure learn quickly.
I have an acquaintance who has just won an election in NSW by a landslide, he is a lovely guy and hopefully he will not be poisoned by pollie mentality that seems to be so prevalent.
I don't know Mr Abbott or Ms Gillard personally so unless one is certain from personal experience that someone has a nasty side is a bit presumptuous don't you think ? you only say he has a nasty side because you don't like his politics and you may be right but he might also be a very nice person who does not communicate as well as he might like.
I think we should remember we vote for a party here and not the PM as they do in the USA, so the party that will do the better job should be elected.

The new Victorian Premier Dennis Napthine is not that polished either, after taking the knife to Ted he's been yelling profanities at Daniel Andrews in front of Andrews children. a very heated discussion was had..

But he does nod a lot, is he being agreeable?

Non committal maybe, in case he opens his mouth and a mistruth pops out inadvertently.

Another Abbott lie.
He promised he was going for the no-confidence motion. Now's he's trying to wimp out of it.
Big woosie that he is.
