Not much to do with a cat depends on what kind of cat you get.

At the moment I have a placid easy going tabby moggy who is happy on her own (mostly sleeping) but with sudden bursts of dashing around the house, and in the evening climbing onto me for extended pats.  She is so easy going that she can sleep on my bed at night and I hardly know she is there.

However...I've also owned some of the oriental type breeds in the past, and they can drive you nuts with their demands for attention, difficulty getting them out of bad behaviour, and fussy eating habits.  Attention seeking can be flattering....but it can also wear you down.  They love being with humans so you would actually find it difficult to do much WITHOUT the cat.

It really does depend on the cat.

Once you have been owned by a Bengal or two or three, you tend to forget that there is such a thing as an easy cat.
