Odds Shorten On Bill For PM

GOODBYE carbon tax, hello yet another round of reform for our financial system.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott finally, finally, got Clive and his PUPpets to back the axing of the stupidest and most pointlessly destructive tax in Australia’s history.

Only for Opposition Leader Bill Shorten to immediately announce his total unfitness to ever be PM, by promising there would be a carbon tax (in the form of an emissions trading scheme) under a government it would be the country’s misfortune for him to ever lead.

The PM made three big promises at the election. Axing the tax, stopping the boats and fixing the deficits. He’s now delivered on two of them, and it’s only the “unrepresentative swill” in the Senate — in former Labor PM Paul Keating’s pungent words — that’s stopping him on the third.

Well, actually Shorten is also playing his part and making an impressive play to claim the title of stupidest Opposition Leader in our history. Faced with the chance of having Gillard’s carbon tax yoke removed from around his neck, thanks to the PM, he’s instead put it straight back on.

And faced with the chance of having this PM take all the tough, vote-costing decisions, enabling a Shorten-led Opposition both to almost amble into office at the next election and inherit a budget in the black — just like Kevin Rudd did in 2007 ——Shorten’s said “no thanks”.

The only reason the Greens and Clive’s PUPpets have any power to stop the Budget is because Shorten’s Opposition won’t take the responsible path of letting the Abbott Government fix the mess created by the Rudd and Gillard governments of which Shorten was a prominent member.

Wonder who the ALP will trot out for the next election after they axe Bill?

Oh Icyfroth Smiley LOL , you know this is not what they want to hear or read. They thought bill would resurrect the failed party but we are also seeing the total collapse and the subterfuge  of "reform" being trashed as Carr and Conroy muscle their way back into the next senate election.

The only reason these two failed MP's could ever be contemplated to be backed in is, Bill needs them.

Thanks bill, for all your wonderful work on reforming the desperate party, you are a shining light on how to perpetrate the failures of rudd and gillard that saw the party suffer the worst loss since 1930, something they just cannot think about, if they don't acknowledge it, it never happened.

A bit like the man standing on the stairs, he wasn't there, all that's there is defeat.

What exactly are you attempting to say about Carr and Conroy?

I'm struggling to understand the point you're making.

Carr resigned and has been replaced by Senator O'Neill and Conroy is still a Senator.

Odds Shorten On Bill For PM

Icy,I suspect you are right, but is this what you actually meantt to say? In racing terms, if  the odds against a horse shorten, it means the bookies believe its chances winning the race have increased.

Well looks can be deceiving, Am, as you'll find when you read the body of my post. And if you take the trouble to read my response to She-el again, you'll notice I said that I got THAT bit wrong. Not that I GOT IT A B IT wrong.
