Oh yes, some would love to see me or I mean not see me, but they failed miserably didn't they?  In fact, the tables were turned stupendously, weren't they?  And in some cases, twice.  LOL

Going for the hat trick on two now.

How's this going?  Answer:  Swimmingly

Yes they did, and yes they were!   Swimmingly indeed!

Children and grandchildren learn from their parents and grandparents.

If they are taught intolerance they will be intolerant.

If a person shows fear of, or scoff at, witches and/or goblins, so will their children/ grandchildren.

Assuming witches/goblins are bad is not the right thing to teach either.

It's best to try and control ones fear/derision to avoid sending the wrong message.

Yes sineater you may use the picture.

It doesn't belong to me.

*************************************************

I love to help people when I can.  Perhaps you can teach your grandchildren that "scoff" has more than a single definition.

For example:
Scoff Definition
v. verb
  1. To mock at or treat with derision

The Online Slang Dictionary

(American, English, and Urban slang)

Definition of scoff

scoff

To steal.

Did you scoff that pen?

You are WELCOME.  Heart

It was like waiting for Christmas when I was a kid, than learning there was no Santa.

Looking forward to something only to be disillusioned by the actual outcome.

Playing against a self proclaimed champion only to learn they have nothing to offer to the game.

Trying to find worth in someone, find a redeeming quality but having to admit it was wasted time and effort on your part.

Realizing the old saying, "if it looks like a snake......" is true.

All taken into consideration was without a doubt, a let down.

The harsh feeling of disappointment eased only by the fact you won the game.

Knowing you can be proud of your contributions, proud of how you defended yourself and others, proud you stood your ground,

proud of your dna.

This game is officially over.

I won.

I'm not steppe but I've come across some.  They even get subsidies on their health insurance. There are so many programs that these people take advantage - they know how to "work the system".

"these people"?

What/who do you mean by these people?

Can you give actual examples?

I sure would like to be able to recognize them when I see them.

What should I look for?

They sound terrible.

How dare they.

The people that take advantage of and work the system - that is "these people" that I refer to.

You can't spot them by looking at them.  You have to listen to them - they'll get around to telling you about their ways to "work the system".  They'll admit that they get subsidies for their health insurance if you just steer the conversation in that direction - they seem pleased that they were able to get the subsidies - pleased that someone else is paying their bills for them.

who's claiming to be perfect,steppe? i haven't seen that?

my suggestion was just that,a suggestion that maybe there are kids who could use your help. they are here on this earth, and they need help. my apologies if you thought it was anything more than a suggestion that you help kids who need it.

my spare cash goes to people who need food and shelter, and places like planned planned parenthood, just like lealta.

they help people with kids take care of their kids, and they help people with birth control,so abortions don't have to happen.

and they help women who have been through being assaulted,or when birth control fails. they offer counseling for ALL options, not just abortion. they also offer counseling about adoption,or keeping that child.

since you are so strongly anti-choice,do you support our government helping women who do choose to have the child? just curious.

those kids need food, and clothes, and shelter just like the kids of parents who planned them, don't you think?

I missed this one donna.

I know what you mean about old photos though, sometimes they make me feel sad too.  Some are hard to look at.  It's like those days are gone, they'll never be again, I know exactly what you mean.  Sometimes I get that feeling in antiques stores, kind of a real melancholy thing, especially if they have old music playing.

step, When you mention old photographs sometimes make you sad the first thing that came into my mind was Jim Croce's song Old Photographs. 🙂

Donna, I'm talking about people who specifically post pictures of themselves when they were young because they are ashamed of what they look like now.   I say "embrace the here and now".  Don't try to make people think you're something that you're not.  Be honest.

I understand what you are saying Lealta.   I do.

I just don't know I'd think that was always the reason.   Maybe proud of past and not ashamed of now would be a better thing to assume (the way I think).    Maybe other reason when everyone is "playing."

I only know why I do things and sometimes think I know why others do what they do, because I (we - plural we) try to know other people by what WE would do.   Sometimes I might be correct.   Sometimes partially correct.   Sometimes I'm totally wrong about another's reasons and/or actions.

True.  Sometimes it's because they are talking when they should be listening (and learning).  See above video "You Talk Too Much", post #1189 - it's a good one and very appllicable.

Oh YarYar, how grandiose of you to think you and your other half would have something worth teaching.

Sorry, but I am not into sadism.  Or the me, myself and I thing.  It must get awful crowded for you at times.

The Notifications tell you who has left Kudos or accepted a solution in the Answer Centre.  When you read them it resets to 0.

But I have lost my little envelope to tell me there are messages for me....there is now a little box beside the word Messages.
