Absolutely.

It brings out the sweetness.

I couldn't believe this one.  My husband used to put SUGAR on tomatoes!!!!!!!!!!!!  He grew up on a farm here in MN but still, I was shocked at that one.

I won't even try that, but yes a little salt on watermelon is fab.

Nice!

My pop always put sugar on his tomatoes, I never tried that.
He also put salt on his porridge, that one I love.

Interesting, when you say porridge do you mean what we call oatmeal?

So other people put sugar on tomatoes, good to know.  I may try it afterall.

But I only put brown sugar on oatmeal and only cook the oatmeal on the stove.  Won't even make oatmeal, which I love, if I only have white sugar.

Yep oatmeal is similar, try it with salt next time 🙂
Trying to remember how pop cooked it, I think just with milk on the stove top.
I could never do it wellnd gave up years ago. Another thing I have to put on my list to do again.

Yeah, you just have to put the right amount of water and cook it for about 5 minutes on medium, it needs to bubble a little bit.  I use water or skim milk would be good now that you mention it.  It's one of those things you need to keep you eye on and stir.

Okay, next time I will try salt on it and do you mean only salt, no sugar?  Brown that is.

Yep sin rolled whole oats.
I don't think I'd like the consistency of ground up oats.

Step no sugar, just sprinkle salt to your taste after you plate up.
Btw, I had a tom sandwich before so I tried some sugar on a slice, blerk! I hated it, but I used raw sugar as that's all we use here.
