Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

Sometime in early 2007, the Craft Board quilters got together and organised a Block Swap. We had to design and prepare enough blocks to make a quilt for ourselves, provide the first block completed and send the package on to the other crafty people in the swap.
We each completed a block in everyone's set.
My quilt was for my grandsons' bedroom in my home. I set a theme of teddy bears and boy's toys.
Most of these quilts have been finished for some time....... but.... I could not make a decision on how to do mine until recently.
I learned so much in that year and can't thank everyone who was involved enough! My applique skills are much improved.
So, thank you ♥

I have also sewn the labels of the blockmakers onto the back of the quilt, behind the relevant blocks.
I made mine into a quillow, a quilt that folds into a pillow, so one of the blocks is on the back of the quilt and when folded into it, becomes a pillow.
My 3 yo grandaughter looked at it and said "Gran, that is brilliant" and that is a good recommendation, so I have to thank everyone who was involved.

Re: Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

Well having seen some of the nasty comments on this thread Karen I hope you can remove the said patch and throw it in the bin as requested.

Wouldn't want to risk contaminating your littlies with the venom contained within.

I can't see a post like that Puddle?
I have to say, I was really surprised to see all the deleted posts today, I had an early night so have not read any of those that are missing. I am really sad that 2 posters have shown themselves to be so mean spirited and ridiculously childish. 😞
I do recall during the swap that Tasfleur posted something about her block never being intended to be used in the quilt but at the time, I made it quite clear that all the blocks would be included. It was planned that way and the background fabric was mine, why wouldn't I? I would never be rude enough to throw anything done for me in the bin.
The reason that Tasfleur's block is the pocket, is because all the other blocks were "matching in size" and that teddy was larger.
My grandchildren love it.
Thank you to all the lovely people who have complimented the group.

And just to reiterate, I did not make the block, it was finished by the time I arrived 'there'. I did make the label though ... 🙂

Further, there were no disparaging comments ever made by me about the awful situation I was placed in, on any thread ... never was, never will be, but do continue .. 🙂

Really that is no surprise.

I would remove your post requesting copies it could get reported.

Don't be ridiculous? if they are not posted here, how can it possibly be against any rules?

Karen I think you are very clever! I wish I could do something like that. I have tried but alas I don't have the patience or the artistic flair for such pursuits.

Re: Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

Sorry K19, you do not recall what I said about the correctly. The block I said would not be suitable for the quilt was one I made myself as a test block, it was awful, and that is why, I suppose, the woman who made your block did that, and then helped me make the label, and the label only ... 🙂

That's the last word I have on the whole awful experience.

you do not recall what I said about the block (or anything else) correctly.

Apologies for the typo, and bye now.

Karen, it is beautiful and a lovely keepsake for the gradies. Your very talented - I can hem a dress and thats about it.

My nanna does knitted ones for all of her great grandies - we should have Liv's by next winter
