Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

Sometime in early 2007, the Craft Board quilters got together and organised a Block Swap. We had to design and prepare enough blocks to make a quilt for ourselves, provide the first block completed and send the package on to the other crafty people in the swap.
We each completed a block in everyone's set.
My quilt was for my grandsons' bedroom in my home. I set a theme of teddy bears and boy's toys.
Most of these quilts have been finished for some time....... but.... I could not make a decision on how to do mine until recently.
I learned so much in that year and can't thank everyone who was involved enough! My applique skills are much improved.
So, thank you ♥

I have also sewn the labels of the blockmakers onto the back of the quilt, behind the relevant blocks.
I made mine into a quillow, a quilt that folds into a pillow, so one of the blocks is on the back of the quilt and when folded into it, becomes a pillow.
My 3 yo grandaughter looked at it and said "Gran, that is brilliant" and that is a good recommendation, so I have to thank everyone who was involved.

I love them all, they are really beautiful, but I especially love this one.

My MIL, who is 87, lives in England and still goes to her village quilting group. She has made some lovely quilts and I often send her stuff with an Australian theme.

She's amazing really, had 2 knee replacements, is diabetic, failiing eyesight etc., but sharp as a tack and still writes long letters about her garden, (which she still does all on her own, true English cottage style, her quilts and her needlepoint.

I should send her the photos of the gorgeous boy quilt blocks, maybe she will be inspired to d a girl one for Zozo

Great work ladies.

More quilts today and all very nice.

Thank you for putting your quilt blocks up karen19quilts. They look even nicer up close.

Rosieglen, I am currently making a small rug for my nephew's new arrival in May. Nothing fancy mind you like the work already posted here, just quilting a hello kitty cot panel, yes we know it's a girl. Still thinking if I will add a border or just bind it?

I also make my own birthday cards for family and friends. I only use stickers and embellishments so far. I have some fancy edge scissors and a couple of basic punches. Another family member does embossed cards, which I love and hope to learn how to do this soon. I am still a novice with a long way to go.

I love that frog card but don't understand why it is called Iris folding? I was expecting to see a folded flower, and instead it was a frog?

Candlewick and ribbon embroidery are on my list of things I want to learn one day.

What a great idea! A place to show off our craft photos!
