Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

Sometime in early 2007, the Craft Board quilters got together and organised a Block Swap. We had to design and prepare enough blocks to make a quilt for ourselves, provide the first block completed and send the package on to the other crafty people in the swap.
We each completed a block in everyone's set.
My quilt was for my grandsons' bedroom in my home. I set a theme of teddy bears and boy's toys.
Most of these quilts have been finished for some time....... but.... I could not make a decision on how to do mine until recently.
I learned so much in that year and can't thank everyone who was involved enough! My applique skills are much improved.
So, thank you ♥

I have also sewn the labels of the blockmakers onto the back of the quilt, behind the relevant blocks.
I made mine into a quillow, a quilt that folds into a pillow, so one of the blocks is on the back of the quilt and when folded into it, becomes a pillow.
My 3 yo grandaughter looked at it and said "Gran, that is brilliant" and that is a good recommendation, so I have to thank everyone who was involved.

Look like geishas

I have a thing about geishas at the moment.

Bought this lovely wall hanging thingy which you "dress"

It has the outline and you applique the parts - will try and take a pic of it.

Re: Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

B-) I'm off to Spotlight. Daughter needs special envelopes and something crafty to keep her busy while sitting with feet up. We think, well pretty sure actually after reading up on it, that she has pelvic symphysis, lots of pain and can barely walk with 11 weeks still to go:-( I want to look at fabric and wool;-) I must place an order again with the Bendigo Wool Mill, great prices and wool is lovely!
I drooled over new sewing machines yesterday while out shopping :8} and think prices have come down a bit.
Enjoy your day ladies.

Morning all, guess you are all out and about by now. I stayed up until 2am trying to quilt.

Really unhappy with the results and tried the walking foot again this morning and it did an even worse job, so will go and see the grumpy sewing machine man tomorrow and see if he can tell me why it's not working.

Karen that looks like the machine shazz was after, but might be a different model, I think hers was about 3500.

Yes they are geishas, such a bad pic, but the fabric is stunning. Each pic of the geishas is about 7"x11" and the colours are superb, buttery yellow, burgundy and light blue with lots of black of course. I might save it and make a quilt for my eldest daughter when she gets her new house built.

Rosie, I love that wall hanging. Its absolutely stunning. I love anything with a Japanese/asian theme:^O

Must be off to have a shower and try to wake up. Might give the sewing a miss today, I'm too disgruntled!!

Have a good day all
