Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

Sometime in early 2007, the Craft Board quilters got together and organised a Block Swap. We had to design and prepare enough blocks to make a quilt for ourselves, provide the first block completed and send the package on to the other crafty people in the swap.
We each completed a block in everyone's set.
My quilt was for my grandsons' bedroom in my home. I set a theme of teddy bears and boy's toys.
Most of these quilts have been finished for some time....... but.... I could not make a decision on how to do mine until recently.
I learned so much in that year and can't thank everyone who was involved enough! My applique skills are much improved.
So, thank you ♥

I have also sewn the labels of the blockmakers onto the back of the quilt, behind the relevant blocks.
I made mine into a quillow, a quilt that folds into a pillow, so one of the blocks is on the back of the quilt and when folded into it, becomes a pillow.
My 3 yo grandaughter looked at it and said "Gran, that is brilliant" and that is a good recommendation, so I have to thank everyone who was involved.

Re: Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

ummm..... almost.
I have 3 almost finished being quilted but.... I got the Patchwork and stitching mag on Friday...... and on the cover is the cutest little teddy bear quilt......
I can only quilt when hubby is at work, as I use the dining table.
When he is home, I do little stuff in here, like applique and block prep........
So the answer is ...NO:^O
Congrats on the great grandie..... I hope you get to move soon too but maybe you can go down for a week and make it?

I have my raggy quilt sewn, and half cut, my hands said enough, so I will finish it on Tuesday, wash it 3 times, and Jed should have a ripper quilt. It is quite a subdued quilt, it is what Eileen likes, so, I hope she likes it.

Re: Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

Just wanted to explain a post I made elsewhere ie Quilting causes dementia. Natturally I was not suggesting that it is true....I was using it as an example of how easy it is to say anything on the net without providing proof.

I hope I didn't offend anyone here....although I am sure you are all clever enough to realise it was tongue-in-cheek:-x

hahaha that's funny Puddles, if you are a quilter you have to have a sense of humour.

Oh gosh Puddles hubby just read that and said if the poster was offended she/he had obviously never seen a quilter in full flight

He dared suggest that I become quite demented whilst in the throes of quilting LOL
