Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

Sometime in early 2007, the Craft Board quilters got together and organised a Block Swap. We had to design and prepare enough blocks to make a quilt for ourselves, provide the first block completed and send the package on to the other crafty people in the swap.
We each completed a block in everyone's set.
My quilt was for my grandsons' bedroom in my home. I set a theme of teddy bears and boy's toys.
Most of these quilts have been finished for some time....... but.... I could not make a decision on how to do mine until recently.
I learned so much in that year and can't thank everyone who was involved enough! My applique skills are much improved.
So, thank you ♥

I have also sewn the labels of the blockmakers onto the back of the quilt, behind the relevant blocks.
I made mine into a quillow, a quilt that folds into a pillow, so one of the blocks is on the back of the quilt and when folded into it, becomes a pillow.
My 3 yo grandaughter looked at it and said "Gran, that is brilliant" and that is a good recommendation, so I have to thank everyone who was involved.

I had to copy it and make it big myself..........
It looks great and I love the fabric! Well done.

Hi april, thanks:-x

No I don't, I saw a sample and it was kind of zigzaggy???

It uses only 7 different fabrics, one of them being a feature apparently.

The sample I saw waas sort of like a rainbow quilt.

Tearing apart?????? Aaaaaargh!

Sounds like a simple bargello and hopefully with the added bonus of not having to match the vertical seams? But there will still be a little ripping apart here and there to create the pattern. :^O Waiting here now to see a picture of the finished top!

"the picture is little"

Really? It's humongous on my computer LOL. Don't get this technical stuff at all.

And the wiggly woggles are where I decided to be smart and quilt down the centre of the lighter "log" strips with variegated thread....not the best idea for a beginner:^O

The dark brown fabric was super cheap ($7 pm) from the Spotted one, but won't fall into that trap again. It had no 'body' to it and reallt stretched out of shape. Most of the other fabric was OK, but the brown bits all needed resquaring. Still it is finished now and Baz likes it:-)

I think you have to log out and come back and it magically returns little, lol.
I bet he likes it!! spoiled pooch.
I think it depends on the fabric itself how it responds, price is not always a good indication?
I struggled with a $15 pm one yesterday but the $5 one was great.

posted elsewhere, but in case you don't see it...love the avatar...

and looking forward to the pics.

Asked about the bargello quilt ripping thing today, apparently it is a bargello-style quilt.

Just blocks, no ripping.....:^O

just started another one, found the most divine black and cream toile fabric I just had to have:-)
