Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

Sometime in early 2007, the Craft Board quilters got together and organised a Block Swap. We had to design and prepare enough blocks to make a quilt for ourselves, provide the first block completed and send the package on to the other crafty people in the swap.
We each completed a block in everyone's set.
My quilt was for my grandsons' bedroom in my home. I set a theme of teddy bears and boy's toys.
Most of these quilts have been finished for some time....... but.... I could not make a decision on how to do mine until recently.
I learned so much in that year and can't thank everyone who was involved enough! My applique skills are much improved.
So, thank you ♥

I have also sewn the labels of the blockmakers onto the back of the quilt, behind the relevant blocks.
I made mine into a quillow, a quilt that folds into a pillow, so one of the blocks is on the back of the quilt and when folded into it, becomes a pillow.
My 3 yo grandaughter looked at it and said "Gran, that is brilliant" and that is a good recommendation, so I have to thank everyone who was involved.

I have a reputation for needing assistance with 1/2 and 1/4 square triangles and had to make a call every time.
I have finally got it!!!
If the finished size is 6", cut squares 6 7/8".
Cut plain squares 6 1/2"
If you can't measure the 7/8" just cut them at 7" and after you do the seams and have your 2 blocks, cut back to 6 1/2".
Make sense? probably not 😞

Oh yes, there is no such thing as a perfect quilt, they must all have at least one mistook in them somewhere. LOL.

Just one?:^O

Playgroup went well for 1/2 the time, then miss 3 decided she wanted to do her own thing..... but this is an organised group......
local high school year 12 child care class.
We had to come home and have cuddles... then dad arrived to pick her up... she burst into tears and said "I thought it was my mummy":_|
Poor daddy but I am so pleased mummy is home at 3pm.... school camps... grrr!! 5 days is too long.
Now, sewing time!!

Thanks Shazz....all done.........................Gilly, you are so accident prone girl!

My quilts always have at least one mistake in them, and I don't even do it on purpose.LOL

I have been chasing Shishido Thread for the big sisters quilt, bit too much to expect to be able to buy it here (country town) but Julie at Bargain Box has ordered me some. I actually went into the snobby shop to inquire about it, grrrrr, hate going there, and oh no, they don't stock it, but they do stock the needles needed to use it.

Hi Quilty ladies,

Well it took me most of the day, but I have made 4 log cabin blocks.

My eyes are sore, there is thread all over the house, the dog hates me because he hasn't been walked and there are still a pile of leaves to be swept up outside................. but I had a ball.:^O

I have taken pics and they are in photobucket. Now, when I can remember how to get them from there to here, I will post them.

Thank you all so much for your encouragement. Yup, I'm hooked:|
