Do the Unions have a right to demand that a private business open up the books so that they can look at them and tell them how to run their business?
This demand has always baffled me.... what right does anyone other than the business owners have to look at the financials of a business? It did no good when they demanded this of Toyota and Holden.... so why do it with Qantas?
If the unions think they can do better go and take your millions, pool them together and open up your own business and employ your own people.
Why does a business have to bow down to Unions like that. Fair enough look after your workers, make sure they have a safe environment and fair pay but what gives them the rights to go right into the heart of a business?
Does a business not have the right to hire and fire who they want and to grow the business as they feel.... or am I misled in that thought????

Look what the unions have done for their members at Ford, Holden and now Toyota... and now Qantas.... They the unions sure know how to run a business.... into the ground and out of Australia

Just watching the news and the Unions are still saying that want to look at the books and find another way for Qantas to find saving. What right do they have to demand that?

Don't they want them to open the books for the Senate?

Opening up the books for Unions.??
That is quite simple really, they want to know in what areas they can screw Qantas and for how much.
It's a try on but i doubt that it will succeed 🙂
Notice how the senate is getting more and more shrill in it's death throes?

some companies work with their employees. if you keep them informed it can be very helpful to a company, but i'd guess the news source distorted the story for the usual reasons.

But is it any business of the Unions to see your books?
Why should the Unions see that info? That is incredibly private stuff and if the Unions get to see that they could do anything with it. They could even take it to another competitor.
If Qantas say that want to sack staff then don't they have a right to do that?

What a shame that the Union administration are not as open with their members but instead defraud them.
Looking forward to the Royal Commission into unions 🙂
I bet there will be some gyrations in that exercise. I wonder how many others like Williamson, Obied, Thompson it will uncover

speaking of obeid , interesting that senator sinodinis and 3 nsw lnp MP's have been implicated into a scandal at sydney water. the so -called NSW disease runs accross party lines it seems. we'll know more when the MPs' go before the ICAC hearing

these are all serving MP's, not figures from the past
