I'm probably going to leave someone a neg (on another site, not ebay).
Please tell me exactly, and literally, how you as a buyer, should interpret this store policy:
"International shipments can take anywhere from one to four weeks."

like aspie I too have had items delivered quicker from Hong Kong than from interstate.

No different from buying from HK on ebay, most take 3 weeks and I believe Canada is also very slow.
My daughter bought an item on another site last nov. 2012, it was coming from Canada, she got it today...........has taken 4 months to get here.
Never buy from Canada!
I bought something from Canada and it arrived in two weeks, if that.. However something I bought from the US in January still hasn't arrived

EXACTLY. All of you had the same interpretation of that statement that I had, it was all about postal service; transit, customs etc. etc. But guess what? The seller means that she waits up to 4 weeks before posting the item despite asking for and receiving immediate payment! I'm not kidding!
Bought and paid for: 28 January
No communication from seller.
Marked as shipped 30 January. Not true.
Parcel arrived 18 March, a whopping 7 weeks after payment.
Parcel postmarked 26 February, a full month after payment!
Not one email or message from the seller about any delay.
The item was a vintage dress, sold from her home.
Also the seller states that she ships to the E... address NOT the Paypal address. Isn't that against Paypay policy?

oops typo shd rd "Paypal"

A month to post is very poor - I'd be looking at giving them a neg too. I'm not clear what you mean about them posting to the E.... address though - didn't you say it was not an Ebay purchase?

Canadian postage is not that bad. It is quite expensive but the USA and UK are fast catching up in that department. And sea mail can be painfully slow...anything up to 6 months, depending on how soon the ship sails after it is loaded.....it is only about 4-5 weeks actual sailing time. But no-one in their right mind would use sea mail anyway as it is not that much more expensive to use airmail.
Over the last couple of years I have regularly received small packet airmail from Vancouver in 8-9 days.
As far as I am concerned the Canadian mail system is fantastic compared to what it was 30 years ago. We used to allow a full 4 weeks for an airmail letter to arrive...a week from Sydney to Canada and a further 3 weeks for delivery inside Canada.

Lyndal it wasn't the postal system that was slow, it was the seller who had my money for a month before she decided to go to the post office. The actual time in transit was just under 3 weeks which is normal.
Also in her policies she says that she carefully handwashes everything which adds a couple of days to the shipping time, then in the receipt I got after paying, it says at the bottom that she "no longer launders items".
There is a bit of a loophole for sellers in that the site policy definition of "shipping" can mean processing, but that is meant for people who hand make craft items to order, not for people who are lazy or disorganised with shipping. She only sells a couple of things a week.

A month to actually post would get a Neg without even thinking about it

I think the wording is a bit dodgy but it says shipments will take that long, not shipping will so maybe she lives in a remote sort of area and has to travel to get to an international post outlet or something.... otherwise international should be no different than domestic shipments.
