I'm surprised there's no thread already about this. Is it because it's not an Australian case?

I have to agree with you Bob, (a first?) I get irate about things like that too.... "oh he is a beautiful looking boy, shame he got hit by a train because his parents didn't care enough to take care of him" kind of thing.

As I said on the US thread, Bob, you should read the information about Trayvon Martin.

wher
I'm gonna make a point why it's more of a shame when bad things happens to beautiful white woman and cute little white kid?
Is it less of a shame if it happened to a not so attractive black boy?
Where does the not so attractive black boy come in?

I made a decision several months ago to not get into these type of "what if" threads... really we will never know the truth about what happened... we will hear reports in the media and it will include all the sensational stuff... maybe not even the important stuff.
we never hear about the poor people that get murdered every day.... only the rich ones.

This reminds me listening to someone saying, "Your child is so beautiful, it must've been a gift from God"
I was thinking, if the kid was ugly................
I'm guilty of it too. I do feel more sympathetic if I see someone young beautiful and white die tragically. I hate that I'm brain washed by social media.

I don't really think wealth has anything to do with the interest in this case, it's more the fact he was an exceptional athlete and held in high regard due to his disability, and his ability to overcome adversity.

And the amount of work he did with children with disabilities. Seems almost Jeckyll & Hyde, possibly the steroids theory.
