Our indigenous people did not exist before British settlement

...according to Tony Abbott.

 

Another gaffe and another insight into his thinking. This is what he told people at a conference yesterday:

 

“I guess our country owes its existence to a form of foreign investment by the British government in the then unsettled or, um, scarcely-settled, Great South Land,” he said.

That's funny, I don't see where he said the aborigine didn't exist............just like right-wingers in the US claim that the bible, guns, and tough men settled the Americas, even though the indigenous people were already there.

Well I suppose its a little like right wingers being blind by everything that is obvious.

 

His assumption that the country was not settled before the British arrive obliterates millions of years of history of one race that was already here that he seems to have forgotten about.

Yeah, but it was the British that brought civilization to Australia.......if dumping a bunch of convicts into the wild can be considered civilization........

The stink of horse manure in the streets, harridans dumping chamber pots from second story windows, alcohol and  disease.........and the ever-present missionaries bringing the word of the white man's god to the benighted heathens......
