I am becoming fascinated with Perth!
Tell me everything! What are the nice areas? What's not so nice?
Is East Victoria Park a nice area? What about Mt Lawley?
How cold does it get in winter? Many people? Is it busier now?
Why have you got sandy soil over there? Is it everywhere? LOL
Pictures please 😄

Is that really York I didn't imagine it to be like that!
Well it said it was just East of York. It was taken in March so very dry then. I will try and find out exactly where around York it was taken.
Here's a pic from the web what the York area looks like in winter. Google is a great friend in finding pictures.

That is a lovely photo Roserobin, but is that Patterson's curse? The purple looks beautiful but it's a serious problem in some places but I'm not sure why. It's dangerous to sheep and cattle from what I just googled and hard to get rid of.
One of my sisters lived in York for a few years and I did enjoy the Christmas that we had at her lovely old place.

Oh York!
For those interested in WA history, the pastoralists of York, coupled with the Fremantle merchants, were responsible for the decision by the British to send the first convicts to WA to boost the falling labour-force.
They petitioned the British Government a number of times before being successful and the first convicts landing in WA in 1850!
But then - this is not a history thread ...... sorry :8}
Loving the photographs roserobin12 - it is a wonderfully historic place and definitely worth a visit Clair 🙂

Oh Joono I just nicked that pic off the net to show Clair a difference to my brothers photo. I initially thought it was lavender but I think you are right, it's most probably pattersons curse and a curse it is. It is also called salvation jane. There is an active program thru the Chittering shire to report and get rid of the stuff. We have property up there and the minute we see any it's gone. No good for horses.
That is very interesting Mtlane and I am sure Clair won't mind you mentioning it.
