Help please. For some reason I thought the concert was at Southbank... but its at Doombsal or Boomball.
It's at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre... I spose Public transport and taxis okay on the night?? Should we get accommodation close to the area or stay in the CBD? We were going to make a big night or two of it and stay at Rydges Southbank as I thought it was right next door doh. We usually stay at the Oaks Charlotte, all a pit posh I know, but we're county bumpkins and honestly happy in basic three star. Its about location though and avoiding too many crowds, extra travel and queuing. Would value other peoples' experiences.

Thanks Dixo โฅ
Well seems like a bloody stupid suburb for a a concert
I do use wotif and all the other websites, do you happen to have a rough idea of a taxi fare from the city.
I was trying to keep it all simple and within walking distance.

LOL tttt, it is a bloody stupid place to hold concerts... out in the middle of the burbs!
Here's the Yellow cab - get a quote site; $47.30 one way from the city to Boondall.

There is a train station there although not sure which line think it's the Shorncliffe line but by train is only half the journey because you then have to go on a virtual bush walk until you reach the labyrinth of the centre itself that confuses you even more about where to go but it looks like it's still stuck in the 80's so maybe that's fits the mood of going to a Paul Simon/Sting concert ๐

So is it a **bleep** fight on public transport?
And are taxis hard to get,
We have stayed at Airport Clayfield, very very clean, cheap shuttle service, but on a different line. Do all the train lines connect on the night do you know? Works for us to stay there if its close enough to the venue.
TRAIN
Translink operates a rail service to and from Boondall station on a daily basis (Shorncliffe line). The Boondall station is located just a short 500 metre walk from the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. More detailed information on rail timetables please visit the Translink website, www.translink.com.au, or call 13 12 30.

20k? Close? Haha.
Why would anyone go past the EC 20k to a motel, then have to retrace their steps back again?
In any case, if you drive to the EC, it could take up to 2 hours to get out of the car park.
Train would be faster, cheaper, and more convenient.

That's an alternative polksaladallie... bear in mind the station is out in the middle of a suburb and the walk is partly through bushland where I'd personally never walk around late at night!
Mind you, there will be a lot of people around, so that makes it ok!!
Anyway, I thought tttt could consider staying on the lovely waterfront at Redcliffe in a nice hotel then catch a taxi that drops them to the front door of EC for the concert. Won't cost nearly as much going against peak hour, plus you always get a set price quote rather than a meter charge for this type of booking.
A shuttle bus from the airport services Redcliffe on a regular basis and I believe they are very reasonably priced.
Your turn polksaladallie.
