Good call. I can't stand them nor do I like them.

they prolly dont think all that highly of you either.

If they are muslims they aren't allowed to think highly of me.

Quran (5:51) - "O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people."

Their user's manual instructs them to shun certain people. I hold the same view when it comes to muslims.

Re: Pauline Hanson calls for ban on Muslim immigration

this thread is discussing ms hansons call to ban muslims from comming to australia.

one of her reasons is that the men misstreat women and children.

my point is that the percentage of muslim men misstreating women and children is no more than in any other group. most likely less.

one person saying they were told by someone most women and children turning up at a hospitals emergency dept has muslim partners, husbands or fathers skews the argument using unsubstantiated facts. and is right up there with ms hansons claims on many fronts.

it makes me think of the witch sketch from monty python and the holy grail,

so you, a non muslim, are an expert in the Quran?

we should all take your interpritation of the Quran as the only way it could be interpreted?

seems a lot of self proclaimed experts have missinterpreted the bible over the centuries too.

as well as just about every self help manual ever printed, cook books, car engine manuals ect ect.

Last month I had a cataract removed from my left eye. The anaesthetist's assistant (read orderly) who wheeled me itno theatre was a calm, friendly, reassuring man named Ahmed. This afternoon I return for the same op on my right eye. It will probably be Ahmed who wheels me into theatre again. Should I " be very afraid."

Well, I'm back home, with both eyes working, and I'm sure you'll all  be relieved to hear that the friendly Ahmed was every bit as  non jihadi as last time.  He didn't cut my throat or shout Allahu akbar as he wheeled me into theatre, he didn't recite the Koran at me or berate me for not wearing a burqa. He didn't even call me an infidel. He did tell me to cover my hair though - with one of those shower cap  thingies they make you wear in theatre.

Oh, andj just as  as an afterthought, the hospital where all  this terrorism  failed to happen  was a  Catholic one - St John Of God's. in Bunbury -  and  when I commented to Ahmed on how busy they seemed to be  he smiled and said: "that's because we're a private hospital, we have to earn our wages, we don't get taxpayer money thrown at us.."

Re: Pauline Hanson calls for ban on Muslim immigration

so glad your hospital stay was a positive for you.

the meeting with a guy who may feel victimised in australia simply because he is middle eastern seems to also show there are people from that area of the world who are here to better themselves, their familys and australia.

i hope you fully recover and see everything so clearly for a very long time.

i watch several tv shows based in emergency department of hospitals and see so many workers tending the incomming patients, these workers are often middle eastern. seems they are no different from us when it comes to caring, cept they care beyond their own people.

Just out of curiosity, if I may ask...

What user's manual instructions do you obey in holding your view about muslims? Or is just personal?

I am not subject to 'mind control' like those who cleave to an alleged religion.

You don't seem to understand the koran. It is the immutable word of the prophet and is not open to interpretation, explanation, or emendation. The koran opens with:

2:2 This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah -

There is no doubt to be found in the koran. It doesn't invite 'experts' to offer interpretations. It is the immutable word of the prophet.

Re: Pauline Hanson calls for ban on Muslim immigration

When I was a kid I could never understand why when Bugs Bunny dug a deep hole he came out in China.  We had a globe of the world, and China was above us, not on the other side of the world.  He should have come out in Europe somewhere.  I didn't understand then that the cartoons I was watching weren't made in Australia.

I think these Hanson people who think quoting bits and pieces from the Koran makes them experts are suffering from similar knowledge gaps.

what you dont seem to understand is anyone who reads any written work and then tries to tell others what it means is putting their own thoughts on what the original author was trying to put into words on paper.

you interpret the written words, not what was in the authors mind. only the author can say what the meaning of his words are in this instance IMO
