A mate drove me down to Burleigh Heads today in his car. How do I pay the tolls that he incurred on this trip?
I have been on govia.com.au, but can't make head-nor-tail of it.

must have been tired or brain cell was on strike - went into govia this morning and paid it so all is well - I hope,

Just give him the money he had to pay for the toll.
I am not in Sydney and I don't drive, but the fairest thing I would do if someone gave me a lift or even went out of their way to give me transport, I would give them cash for the expenses they have had.
No question asked and no refusal accepted. That's what friendship is all about.

Erica. You don't understand, if he doesn't pay the tolls within 3 days
he will be fined. It's not a mates thingie.
You must be able to pay them on-line somewhere. I'm in Melbourne,
so don't understand your system, sorry
We can pay ours at the Post Office

Seems you need an account at govia to pay even a casual trip

Thanks, Stawka.
I am not a driver, so do know nothing about tolls on bridges or Freeways, but what I would have done in Rabbits position, I would have Googled - How to pay toll fees for such and such location.
Google is a good friend and very helpful.

Careful, sometimes google is an enemy - I have found that out the hard way
Rabbit went on to the toll website, but can't understand it.
He needs somone from the Gold Coast to explain it.

Of course I paid for his petrol and gave him $150 for his time - it took most of the day - but he never goes through tolls to have an account with govia, and neither do I for that matter. Having said that, a few weeks ago, I went down to see my son and went through several tolls, they sent me a bill with a fine for not paying on time - they gave me a link specifically for paying. This time, because it was his car, he will get the bill and fine and I don't want that.
I'll wait, as someone said, and ring them on Monday.
Thanks all for help.

I have had a bill sent, but no fine. It is easily paid online.
Only if you don't pay the bill you get sent a second one with a fine attached.
That was a couple of years ago, it might be different now.

NSW People that drive in that area regularly would have an ETAG,
if not you have to ring up and set up a visitors account giving them details such as Rego and credit card #, failure to do so within the rerquired time will result in much higher fees.
Last time in Vic was a visitit to the post office
