Supreme court appeal, two of the three judges had little experience in criminal law and disented with the views of the judge with vast experience in criminal law.
Unanimous High Court Ruling ( 7 Judges all with vast experience) far outweighs the supreme court ruling.

And they would be privy to info the general public don't have.
Even so I hope they got it right.

Watch Revelations by Sarah Ferguson if you want to see what
went on back in the days of secrecy. Father Vincent Ryan was
our local priest until he was moved on to another parish to
continue his abuse of children.

Pell has been in places full of convicted paedophiles, yet apparently he did not notice. Even when sharing room with some. He moved priests because they were accused of molesting children. There have been number of accusations against him over the years. Unfortunately, most of these men were either unable to bring themselves to go to court, or some are dead. I watched part of the doco the other day; the man who talked about what Pell did to him was very believable.

How therefore can one have faith in the Justice System when the Supreme Court can appoint two inexperienced judges in such an important appeal? How can one truly be confident that justice has prevailed? I accept the High Court decision, but the fractures in System leave that element of doubt.

But Father Vincent Ryan was not accused of these crimes....George Pell was.
I have always thought that Pell is guilty of something but not of the crimes he was charged with.
You cannot convict the man of "something" without absolute proof of that particular crime.

I didn't reference Pell but I was speaking about the inherent abuse in the Catholic
church which was covered up over many years.

i'm very sad for the boys who finally stood up (now men) and told their story
i fully expected him to be aquitted
it was allways his word against theirs and well, he has friends not just in high places but the right places.

Jim Maxwell has extensive experience in criminal law, having been hearing appeals of criminal law convictions for nearly 20 years.
Of the High Court Justices, only one - Bell - would have more criminal law experience.
Anne Ferguson had to sit on the appeal, it was her duty as Chief Justice.
