So its pensioners who are creating the huge debt this country owes?

i thought it was unemployed.

only need to throw the disability sector in now for the trifecta.

if malcome cuts the dole, pensions and disability support he'll fix the nations problems.

and have the money to build a new coal powered power plant or 3

Disability income support is classed as a pension and would be included in the figure quoted..

Don't forget that negative gearing has cost the economy 10's of billions of dollars and through it,it's halved the

capital gains tax when negative gearing,(costing more billions of dollars that end up in investors pockets and

not into the government coffers).

It's also put the rental prices up to close to unaffordable levels so the renters don't have spare money to put

into the economy,(instead it just goes to the negative gearers who bank it or pay of the loans).

House prices have also risen due to negative gearing which is another negative if you want to try and buy an

affordable house/unit,stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

By not having that extra money to spend the economy doesn't turn over as much as it used to as that extra

money spent on rent ends up in the bank and not in the economy.

The billions claimed in tax through negative gearing losses means the Goverment keeps borrowing money to

make up for it.

So the rich get richer and the economy suffers,Angry head bang.gif

Some of the money ends up in the bank, but quite a bit also ends up being spent on black SUV's and weekend resort holidays as the investors spend their taxpayer subsidised gains on luxury goods. That ultimately trickles down ( a good Liberal catch phrase ) to the workers at the resort and car dealerships. Go Tazz as you mentioned, the main problem with the CGT concessions is it helps to concentrate the wealth amongst a priveledged few at the expense of the less well heeled.
