Peter Cosgrove to be new Governer General

Peter Cosgrove has been a firm favourite for GG, A very popular choice by PM Abbott. I'm very happy with him, he's always been a great example of what a Australia stands for & has never put a foot wrong. Good on him.

IT has been expected for so long, the decision to make Peter Cosgrove the next governor-general of Australia is almost an anticlimax.

But when Tony Abbott finally makes the formal announcement of the appointment of the popular military figure, he will gain kudos and encouragement for making such a popular choice.

THE Federal Government insists a decision has not been made on who the next governor-general of Australia will be, despite reports former general Peter Cosgrove has already been picked.

A spokeswoman for Prime Minister Tony Abbott's office said "no decision has been made yet".

"An announcement will be made in due course as per the usual process," she said.

I'm just relieved it isn't going to be John Howard!
