My photo and best of all, my gold.
Found this about 10 years ago using a $40 metal detector I purchase off ebay.
On one our trips , we took it along.
Bingo !, I first thought it was a piece of bronze.
Had a friend clean it, took it to jeweler and weighs in at roughly 1.9 ounces.

Congratulations on the find. I went on a small guided, gold fossicking tour in Bendigo many years ago. The guide set me panning in a small water hole in a creek bed. A while later he came along and flashed his metal detector over the hole. It buzzed, he reached down and pulled a large nugget out of the mud, right in front of me. He was delighted and said it was the largest one he had ever found. Needless to say all I had to show for the day was a nice piece of his wifes home made sultana cake and a complimentry cup of coffee..........

That would have been difficult to deal with.
Luckily for him, you only had pan and not a shovel.

I should clarify the pan vs shovel. Like donging him on the head with the shovel.

Bear - that reminded me of my Acorn - it has graced every set of keys I have had since the 70's.
The Acorn - from little things - big things grow. lol
It is a Tony White piece - silver & ivory - and - I can assure everyone - the elephant died of old age.
So did the romance.
