I know a few of of us have pics on our computers they were taken by spouses or offspring. Someone else mentioned having siblings photos as well. Then there are professional pics that still belong to us e.g. school photos of our kids etc..
It's hard to know where to draw the line. I have pics taken with my camera by my my hubby and I have to stop and think which one of us took it.
I think if we have a direct link to the the pic it should be allowed to be posted, but I'm not sure about voting on it.
I'm going to offer a few options in the next few posts. Give kudos to the one you agree with the most.

I asked for the rule to be clarified because I didn't know exactly what it meant... whether it meant photos like she ele posted ( which she didn't take herself, but was a personal photo with her in it) or whether it applied more broadly to than that to any photo a family member/someone in the same house has taken.
This is the first challenge with the new rule and I thought it best to ask now, before someone makes a fuss AFTER the winning photos have been declared.
Besides that ,I think it was joono that raised the issue in a post a week or so ago, asking others if they thought posters should be allowed to post photos taken by someone other than themselves in the photo challenge thread, most of the replies to that was no, they prefer it to be posters own photos only.

but there are so many posters who are now getting right into the whole photography thing, experimineting with different effects etc and expanding their exopertise etc - this brings them joy, contentment and their own opersonal challenges iykwim.

*throws a bone way way over yonder* Go fetch Doggie
I think just about anyone who has posted a pic (in recent weeks) that wasn't their own has said so. There have been a couple of times when this hasn't been so but I think that has been a genuine oversight. The rule hasn't changed insofar as the winning pic must be the posters own work. The rule has been altered to allow other pics that the person really really really wants to share to be posted. These haven't been many in number.
I guess whats always at the back of my mind is this is a public board. At the end of the day I have no ownership and no physical control whatsoever on what gets posted on the threads. I have to rely on the community to conduct themselves within the sprit of the challenge.
And now I'm going to have nightmares about starving homeless cats
