Hurray, flying birds. Fake, my first question to poddy was: How do I get a good photo of a flying bird? I never really did get the hang of it.
More please.

Tcm.........if you're on facebook, check out "Oregon Photographers".........you'll get more bird shots than you can shake a stick at.........just about every kind of raptor, hummers by the bushel, and a plethora of songbirds.

I wish the Oregon Photographers had a website where we all could enjoy the photos!
The chickadees are so small and soooo fast that I don't have any really good photos – yet! Plus I am shooting through a window, so a very narrow area to photograph from. Maybe when the weather gets warmer I can get some nicer shots. In the meanwhile, it's good practice for me and the birds are getting used to having me close by.
BTW, I love your photo in post #1301, Tcm – it's gorgeous!

Interestingly that butterfly appeared on our bamboo one night a few weeks ago. It was still there the next morning.
The kitty picture was hard to take as I had to take it with my left hand. She is laying on my right arm lol.
I love your critter photos. You DO have some interesting bugs.
I've only ever seen one echinda and that was when we lived in Kooralbyn. It was so big and fat, I thought it was a wombat. I'm sorry I didn't get a picture of it.

Just had to show this photo. It was taken on the evening I took the butterfly photo. OH was holding a light near the butterfly as it was getting dark. It looks like there's a cross on his back. It was the shadow of the lit candle and candle holder.

Cool photos, Simone! I also meant to comment on how much I loved your butterfly photo – it's beautiful. The coloring at the bottom of the tail looks similar to that of a swallowtail, so I had to look it up (its a female Papilio aegeus if you're interested). Thanks for sharing.
And now I'm hungry!
