Does anyone know what plant this is please? the leaves are abt 5cm long and maybe 2cm wide, silver/green on one side, and purple on the other. I know it's fairly common but want to know its name and what sort of care it needs.

I know what it is! Yes! It is the Amazonian Chocolate Gobbler Triffid!
(WARNING: I am an expert at naming every plant I come across incorrectly) .....

Wandering Jew. It's a horrid weed and will grow hanging from your clothes line!

It is the decorative form of Wandering Dew....not a noxious weed like it's common version.
It will grow anywhere like the weed variety, sprouts from any node that touches the soil and will thrive on a regular dose of weedkiller.
No, I am not kidding....the only thing that differentiates it from the common weed is the colour. It is rather pretty and makes a good hanging basket.
Edit.....snap Stawks.

Impossible to eradicate.
I've been trying to get rid of it out of my garden for over 40 years

IF you must have it, yes.
In the garden, it spreads like wildfire and most cats/dogs are allergic to it
Personally I hate it - any colour. There are variations.
