Got a good laugh out of this one, he sure nailed her. Poor Bill had to try to cobble up some kind of response that didn't make him look like the empty showbag his comrades know he is.

Authorities within the Australian Labor Party were scrambling this week to try to contain an outbreak of the deadly Pliberbola virus, with frantic calls for the exposed leadership of Bill Shorten to be immediately quarantined…

The Pliberbola crisis came after Mr Shorten recklessly wandered into the national security debate with no protection against the extreme risk of being infected by a deadly dose of bipartisanship, caused by getting too close to Tony Abbott.

“Pliberbola is the most virulent strain of undergraduate socialism the world has ever seen,” said a spokesman for Mr Shorten…

The virus is believed to have mutated in the 1970s in the Democratic Republic of Marrickville in a freakish contact between batty undergraduates and hard-core Marxist union enforcers, or apes, which in turn infected the gibbering idealists of the Greens.

How the virus crossed the species barrier to infect normal, sane, rational human beings is not known, although the first identifiable case has long been rumoured to be a large man with a booming voice known only as Gough.

It is just as dangerous in a war zone as it would be in this area.

Australian officials have also sought assurances from the US, UK and some European Union member states that if Australians were to be sent to West Africa, anyone infected could be treated in one of those countries.

To date, no partner country has been willing to give an ironclad guarantee that they would treat an Australian worker.

The possibility of treating people in West Africa has so far been discounted because, despite promises, no treatment centre for healthcare workers has been built or staffed

Prime Minister Tony Abbott said this morning it would be "irresponsible of an Australian Government to order Australian personnel into this very dangerous situation if we didn't have effective risk mitigation strategies in place".

"And at the moment there is no way of doing that," he said.

Mr Abbott said "we have no commitments from other countries" to treat Australians who might contract the disease while working offshore.

Weasle words can not be ignored when Plibersek gets going.

She thinks she can wedge the government but she's not going to get anywhere with it. She knows it.  She is doing what she's known for, scare mongering and spreading fear.

I find it amazing the blind acceptance of what Plibersek is running by the left but that's just par for the course, anything will do.

Talk about Typhoid Mary, Pliberbola will go down as the "cry wolf" of this human catastrophe and well may she deserve it.

Anybody can say what Plibersek is saying, it's just weasle words.

no, she had said that earlier in the interview. What she did go on to say was:

TANYA PLIBERSEK: Well I'm a bit perplexed about why it's taken so long but I think it's an interesting comparison to make. We pre-deployed Australian Federal Police to Europe to be ready to go to Ukraine to help in the search for MH17 and the recovery of Australians from that crash site.

We've pre-deployed SAS to United Arab Emirates to be ready to go into northern Iraq. The Opposition supported both of these important missions.

It's a bit mystifying why you wouldn't, in the same way, say to medical teams: "We are trying to put in place the arrangements that you will need to keep you safe, be ready to go".

And on the issue of the SAS, it is absolutely vital to have those legal arrangements in place for our personnel if they're assisting the Iraqi Army. We need to know very clearly the arrangements that that assistance is provided on.

I don't blame the Government at all for insisting on having those arrangements properly in place, but it is a bit perplexing it is taking so long.
