The colleague, the girl, the police: Student framed and imprisoned over terror offences tells whole story for the first time
sadly none of these 'professional' investigators get to spend even 1 day in jail for doing a really bad job.
they just swan off and continue to collect very healthy pay cheques, ready to do it all again.
a notebook with his name on it?
handed in?
who knows who may have had hold of it before it was handed over.
even i could shoot holes in it as 'evidence' of a crime.
my training?
watching tv shows like marple lol
they used the old, 'well he looks like a terrorist, he is a muslim after all!' theory.

Hind sight and then attacking the police for trying to do their job seems to becoming an Aussie pastime like in the
US and making them the bad guys for trying to do their job.
And now they are "experts" on something that they have no idea about and obviously don't care who gets
hurt as long as cops wait to get it right and don't make any mistakes/errors because that will see them attacked
again by armchair experts.
Like what Kamer said:if I was white, if my name was John, if I wasn't Muslim, this wouldn't have happened yet he
wasn't white, his name wasn't John and he was a Muslim so the police took actions based on terrorrists fitting
that criteria and the evidence of the notebook.
Notebooks have been found after previous cases of terrorist acts and shootings but after the deaths of people
so that must be the way the "experts" want it so don't arrest anyone on suspicion if you're not a 100 % certain.
Like all the ones that have killed people after being let out on bail or there were signs that you weren't allowed to
act on as then you didn't have a 100% proof that they are killers but then "experts" will then claim it's still their
fault for not doing something earlier?
So if you are a cop according to the "experts" you can never be right.

i was NOT attacking the police for TRYING to do their job!
i was attacking them for NOT doing their job
basic investigation before running out all guns blazing to make a great headline.
LOOK, we saved the nation!
give us a MEDAL!
instead we get an innocent man locked up without any ability to tell anyone or even speak to a lawyer!
on the flimsiest evidence ever!
its a good thing he didnt panic when the cops arrived and tried to run away (remember hes from a country where police turning up often means your dead)
my guess is he would have been shot dead as a terrorist trying to excape!
it amazes me some of us just accept this behaviour as ok
just like when it was accepted aboriginals could be treated badly because, well they are black.
you know, all aboriginals are criminals right because some steal cars.
tazz, wow, your a real humanitarian arnt ya?

Something you know nothing about yet you want the medal because you knew nothing and are only going on
headlines that someone else has posted and claiming you are an "expert" as you must be as you knew they
were wrong.

Wow!,they quietly arrested him and look at what you posted?

At the time the evidence stacked up and they did their JOB in preventing a potential terrorist from committing a
terrorist act.
But off course lets target the police so they become ineffective and don't let them arrest anyone JUST in case
they may be innocent and then if they do commit a crime we can blame the general public in the same way they
blame police as they aren't allowed to do their job.

Again you're even worse then the journalist and obviously like your fantasising and trying to make things look
as bad as can be as they would've had controls in place to prevent any escape but doesn't suit your fantasies.
.
it amazes me some of us just accept this behaviour as ok
It amazes me how someone can just keep blaming everyone else in any way they can just so they can be
"heard" on a discussion board.
Mistakes/errors happen and no one is perfect except you off course so it's not accepting it is knowing that
mistakes happen and when you consider how many people would've been involved in that case they still
believe they did the right thing to protect the citizens of Aus.
But for you that's not good enough because the article says they were wrong and off course you believe that.
just like when it was accepted aboriginals could be treated badly because, well they are black.
you know, all aboriginals are criminals right because some steal cars.
tazz, wow, your a real humanitarian arnt ya?
That is truly pathetic/disgusting and being a complete mongrel and shows your true colours and how you just
run with anything that you've possibly heard instead of actually being through any of it in any way at all.
No,I'm sick and tired of the cops being attacked for trying to do their jobs by numpties that have no idea and no
idea what it takes to keep this country safe.
If we went by what you are going on about there would be no arrest because they might possibly get it wrong.
So you want that instead and let Aus become an easy target so then you should be happy as that way a potential
terrorist has nothing to worry about because the cops wont act in case they get it wrong.

It sickens me to read that story and the way he was treated. I read the article and I just skimmed it again so I'm not sure whether it was that or what I heard on the radio today but he was kept in solitary for a month and was not even allowed access to a lawyer for five days.
I doubt he could ever be a trusting person again.

please everyone, just take a moment and ask yourself if you would want to be in the police force?
In recent weeks there are countless stories in the news about police being spat on and coughed on.
How would you react to such treatment? For police, would it make you wary if put in same position again? Would you put up with that? Or, might you take action before things escalate to that level? (and risk "earning the hate" of those who do not serve)
Today, 4 officers lost their lives while performing their duties in Melbourne.
I was a teacher for 30 years. Some people asked me how I put up with that for so long. It was what I wanted to do, I loved it. Sure, there are bad teachers and teachers who do bad things . . . and it would upset me greatly if a public forum had a thread titled "Teachers earning the hate" where the actions of the very few besmirch the actions of the many overwhelming majority in the eyes of faceless public forum critics.
As for bad police, well, don't tar the whole force for the actions of what I would think are the very few.

how did i 'tar the whole force' anywhere?
it was this group who failed to do their homework before arresting a guy on terror charges.
using the terrorist laws to not just arrest him but deny him any legal acess to legal representation!
they used an old note book as their key piece of evidence without even figuring out the guy didnt write the carp in it.
being a cop is not an easy job, no.
but why make it harder by doing a half hearted job?
i dont allways bag police, read my post before this one
about the cop being charged for assault on a child.

using the thread title “Police earning the hate” rather than “Some Police . . . “ or “A few Police . . . “..
Your original thread title lends itself to tarring all police.
