i agree, my original post didnt include all the information i now see.

my original thought was not so much about the width of the road ect but that they all were given heafty fines. if it a problem then a 'warning' notice on every car, your parked badly, if found like this in the future you will be fined.

from the pictures i saw i couldnt see any obvious reason for the tickets (there was plenty of room to walk past cars without danger)

it looked like tickets just because we can.

easy revenue.

yes, they were parked where they are not suposed to and the police officer just did his job.

however its exposed a bigger problem now, the coucil is on notice to the real problem. if a street is so narrow if you park on it others cant get up and down it, it needs a cure.

The road may be a bit narrow but they aren't parking next to the road.

Maybe they got the fines because they are parking up to 5 metres from the road,(as in 2 of the photos).

This photo shows a guy taking a photo from his front fence which is a good distance from the road and there

are no cars near where the people are so most likely parked close to the houses on that side.

Lots of width..jpg

The second picture shows a 5 metre nature strip and instead of parking off the road the residents have parked

right next to their houses,(so they are wrecking the nature strip because they are to lazy to walk or do the

right thing and park closer to the road).

IMHO the council should send those a letter to tell them to park correctly or face a fine,(probably wont happen

and when the nature strip is just dust they'll want the council to spend money to fix something they wrecked),stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif
To narrow..jpg

Notice none of the photos actually show two cars on the roads to show how "narrow" the roads are,(the only

one that does is the above photo which shows a car in the distance with what looks like a road that's plenty

wide enough for 2 cars to pass and that leaves plenty of space NEXT to the road for parking).

The second photo shows an unbroken white line running along the side of the road. Road rules say you cant park where there is an unbroken white line.

We have a road nearby similar width to the one in the photos. It runs through a golf course estate. The pratts who live in the houses have their garages filled with their golf carts and park their cars in the street. It is hard enough getting cars through. The council dump trucks, delivery trucks and fire trucks have all sorts of problems. Council needs to get its can of white paint out and put a few white lines along the edges of that street.

Ballarat police officer David Berry acquitted of assault charge, punch to ex-neighbour ruled self defence

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-06-07/ballarat-police-sergeant-acquitted-of-assault-charges/1117888...

his word against hers?

he says she was trespassing on his property? how so? by going there seeking help?

she runs away, he chases her....why?

he belts her doing serious damage....why? because he feared she would stike him? really?

could he not just keep away from her? not chase her? call the police?

seems i'm missing something here.
