I agree with Cat on this one. None of us are perfect and giving up smoking is one of the hardest things you can do. Speaking from experience (just over 2yrs smoke free).
Even though I'm a Midwife and you'd expect me to be quite the opposite in my opinion. I see lots of women who smoke when pregnant, I give them all the information I can if I catch them in antenatal clinic. BUT I also understand how difficult it is. I find it really hard actually between not wanting to ram all the info down their throat and send them on a guilt trip to making sure that they have all the information needed to make an informed decision. And maybe motivate them enough to quit.
It's difficult and I wouldn't judge anyone on it. If she can't quit then cutting down a lot is better than keeping up the pack a day habit and will make a huge difference.
