Possible PayPal scam

Has anyone else been offered a one off payment of $10 to start using their PayPal account again?
Is this a scam?

Paypal regularly offer vouchers, I have read about one for $10.00 in the last few days that were legit

It is legit...I got one and sent it to spoof@paypal and they replied that it was real. I had already deleted it because I had used PayPal that morning.

Thanks for your replies. My OH got one today and replied. We have just had an almighty row about it. If it was legit I am going to have some serious grovelling to do, especially as I told him to get his own lunch. 😁

I have not used my Paypal account since November last year, but have not received such offer from Paypal ever.

Yes, they do from time to time.  From memory I think they always address the correspondence to you by name.

It is legit - but it is not working

I tried to use it and got a message about it not being linked to the correct email address.  Anyway a little while ago I received another message from PayPal apologising for the 'technical error" and telling me .....

We sent you an email yesterday with $10 to spend on eBay. You may have noticed that we experienced a technical issue with the voucher code that was sent to you. Don’t worry, you are still eligible for the voucher, it will be available to use from 30 March 2015

So I will try to use it again next week.  If you deleted your original message, the code was C_YOURGIFT02 (the code is usually the same for everyone)

I just used it but they do have technical problems; my message was telling me that my email address is wrong.
