Private Health Fund Fees To Rise Again!

I just received an email from my Health Fund saying that the Australian Minister for Health, the Hon Tanya Plibersek MP announced that health insurance premiums will be changing effective 1 April, 2013.

I couldn't afford Private Health before, stands to reason,  I still won't be able to. Imagine it is out of reach of many Australians, and unfortunately, probably the one's that need it most are the one's than can not afford it.

Why do people get surpised about this? It happens every year at the same time!. One of lifes certainties. (avg of 5.6% inc this year).

Yes, that's what I thought.

I temped once with the Private Health Insurance Association once when they were preparing their submissions for an increase.

Sad thing is its way out of reach for so many now.

Private health insurance went south when the government started to stick their oar in and "regulate" it to make it "affordable" for all.X-(

Premiums went up, gaps got bigger and less and less things are covered.
