On Saturday afternoon Ismaaiyl Brinsley, 28 fired four rounds at officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. The officers, who were hit in head, were assigned from their normal downtown Brooklyn beat to an area of the borough with a high crime rate, authorities said.
New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton said the officers were shot "with no warning, no provocation."
Witnesses saw Brinsley walk to the car and assume what they described as a shooting stance.
"They were, quite simply, assassinated," Bratton said.
At a nearby subway station, Brinsley was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.
A message from a teenage son of Ramos' showed the heartbreaking devastation the crime has caused.
"Today is the worst day of my life," 13-year-old Jaden Ramos posted on Facebook about the slaying of his father, Rafael Ramos.
"Today I had to say bye to my father," the teenager wrote. "He was (there) for me everyday of my life, he was the best father I could ask for. It's horrible that someone gets shot dead just for being a police officer. Everyone says they hate cops but they are the people that they call for help. I will always love you and I will never forget you. RIP Dad."
Brinsley had a lengthy criminal record. He was arrested 15 times in Georgia for assorted crimes and arrested four times in Ohio, Boyce told reporters Sunday.
Ramos had just turned 40; Liu had been married two months ago.

That is such B.S. You really don't have a clue..... Bla bla bla. Do you disagree just to disagree?? 🙂
You almost seem like your justifying cops being killed. With the above statement, maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I'm getting reading between the lines.
No I am not justifying anybody getting killed. I just wonder how can anybody justify policeman reaching for his gun when an ordinary mum with 2 small children approaches him. If he felt threatened by her, how would he have dealt with somebody looking less harmeless.
The point is what impression it would have left on the kids? They were taugt that police are the good guys, if they ever got lost or felt threatened policeman would be the person to trust.

Jimmy, my thoughts exactly!
Hello Golden. Yeah I've seen a few of those stories here. The best one so far was ...."hundreds of people standing in lines at McDonalds". It was worth the laugh though....these others are made up to insult. I'd love to hear the cops side of that story. (Bet I was on the money)

Getting a little off-topic there, Joanie? I see racism is alive and well in Ohio.

Where would you start?
Keep repeat offenders in jail?
More training for police in dealing with offenders? Put more police on the beat?
Tightening gun laws?
More effort in keeping drugs off the streets?
There is war coming to the streets of USA People do not want the truth because it scares them. When they are shown the truth they deny it because it scares them. But there is much more coming than this and when it blows out of control the usual suspects will deny they were ever told this would happen and instead lie and say they were the ones that foretold it.There initself is reason enough for YHWH to turn the world against itself and make it implode which is basically what He is doing. The Horseman are galloping with their horses. The apocalypse has begun.Peace is going to be taken away from the world and the people given nothing but war and uprising.
