Well, I watched the ABC election coverage. The expert panel was Wayne Swan and Tim Nicholls. Very entertaining.
It seems the ALP is certain to win. The QEC website notes that Labor is ahead in 46 seats with the LNP ahead in only 40 seats: QLD 2015 election summary.
You will note that only one of the ALP seats has a margin of less than 3% (Mansfield with a margin of 0.14% with 68% of the vote counted) whereas the LNP has 5 seats within that 3% margin (Whitsunday, Mount Ommaney, Redlands, Glass House and Caloundra).
Mansfield is problematic for Labor, but Labor only needs 45 seats to form government. And there are also 2 KAP members and Peter Wellington (and Peter Wellington would rather chop both of his feet off before helping the LNP form government).
So the people of QLD have spoken. The LNP is out and Labor now has the arduous task of cleaning up the mess that the LNP government has left the State in.

It's sort of a poisoned chalice situation for them, wouldn't you say, seeing as how much damage has been done?
But, we live in hope. Until the disillusionment kicks in down the track a bit.
Like I said before somwhere here . . . in private, they all wear purple ties.

So why did Campbell lose so badly? This article provides a hint: Queensland election 2015: Vote Compass ranks leaders on trustworthiness and competency. Campbell Newman rates well on trustworthiness amongst LNP voters, but badly in respect of everyone else.
It is a problem that arises when speaking only to the base. Beating up on public servants, teachers, nurses and firemen plays well with the traditional LNP voters, buy it doesn't win many votes amongst public servants, teachers, nurses and firemen. And then there is the problem of beating up on doctors, judges and lawyers. Beating up on bikies might seem to be OK, but there are many hairy men who ride bikes and are not criminals, and beating up on them is not OK. Beating up on unions is never a good idea (because they fight back).
The thing about picking fights with various factions of the community is that it pleases a few people and annoys everyone else. Campbell Newman was a strong leader with a confrontational style. That doesn't work so well when you are trying to charm the electorate. And the LNP lost on the distribution of preferences. Anthony Green said he was surprised at percentage of preferences distributed to the ALP. Not so surprising really, when you consider how many strong choices were made by the Newman government.

I give the ALP three years.

e.g. "Queensland election drubbing puts Tony Abbott’s leadership under pressure ...."
Shorten, who frequently visited Queensland to join the campaign trail, said the result was extraordinary.
“This was truly a David and Goliath battle – and Annastacia Palaszczuk has brought Goliath to his knees,” Shorten said.
“Throughout regional Queensland and greater Brisbane, I heard people say they were sick of Campbell Newman and Tony Abbott’s cuts and broken promises.
While Campbell Newman tried to hide Tony Abbott, the prime minister was front and centre every day of this campaign.”
Saturday's election event was like watching someone wipeout an infectious disease with a one-shot vaccine.

Good riddance to the arrogant Mr Newman is all I can say. The selling of good agricultural land to the mining conglomerates was never going to go down well with the QLD.
Unfortunately I don't see a Labor government making much headway either, considering they'll be inheriting their own problems back along with having to fix some of the poblems Mr Newman's government has created.
And I have no confidence in Ms Palaszczuk.
