What are some questioning here --------------------------- the concept of an actual democracy ?
Gee, how novel, huh ?
A real democracy, such as is lauded across the West with the pin-brains nodding and smiling, nodding and smiling, 'Gee, we live in a democracy, yay for us '
Then a child pipes up and says, ' I don't think we do live in a democracy. We just think we do. We're told we do and because we're so dumb and so distracted with our silly toys and addictions, we've never stopped to actual question WHY, every time we vote for a better deal, it nevertheless fails to satisfy or address majority concerns '
The kid's mum doesn't bother looking away from her vital-organ mobile phone so just murmurs, ' Huh? What did you say, kid?'
The child continues, ' What actually happens in this so-called democratic society under which we live and are in fact ruled is this -- we swap one group of corrupt politicians for another. It's like Pass the Parcel or Musical Chairs. The two major parties get together to destroy all potential alternative parties, so we're stuck with the same two bunches of goons. No escape. Then, when we're sick of one party, they hand over to the other -- to give us the illusion of having 'choice'. But it's no choice at all, is it ? Because when it comes to themselves, all pretence of opposition goes out the window and they back each other -- especially when it comes to getting their hands on our money.
But, quite apart from that nauseating spectacle, we don't have anything approaching democracy. All we get is a new party at the reins and they do whatever they like without taking our opinions or needs into account. They in turn are ruled by shadow governments who dictate to our politicians who in turn tell us how it will be.
So what we get is a farce. And they make us pay for it. They drag us into wars with which we don't agree. They flood us with inappropriate migrants whom we don't want. Sure, politicians don't have to suffer. They don't live in migrant ghettos. They have body-guards. Their kids don't have to deal with non-existent career opportunities because funny thing this --- worldwide, politicians provide well-paid jobs for each other's kids. Politicians (Anna Bligh comes to mind) have their entire house protected from fluoride via Reverse Osmosis. We don't get that opportunity. We just get poisoned.
Why do we pretend we live in a democracy, Mum ?'
Mum giggles as her friend shares a naked selfie, ' Mmmmm, love ?'
' Why do we pretend we live in a democracy when we're in fact ruled and regarded by the politicians supposedly working for our benefit and on our pay, as beef on the hoof ?'
Mum is busy texting, ' Oh go and play, love. If you're good I'll heat up a McCains frozen dinner for you later. Now buzz off '
