Question for the Mods re Malicious Tags..

Why are posters allowed to use the Tags option to post Malicious comments to other posters?

Why is a poster allowed to try to sneakily post Aboriginal words to tag other posters as things such as wino, crazy, and boring?

Why can tags such as 'Lyin' allowed to be attached to a posters post?

And there are others

Surely malicious bullying tags are interpersonal attacks, hate talk, and contravene Community Values..etc

Why are posters allowed to use and abuse theTags system to attack others?

Re: Question for the Mods re Malicious Tags..

You can write all the words you want, I think most know what the purpose was in these tags.

This could go on for every, so just like the last time and the time before and so on, it should be dropped.

Nice sunny day here today, with a slight chill in the air

Hi Joe XX how is the weather in WA.

Think I will book a holiday some where warm

Re: Question for the Mods re Malicious Tags..

The whole purpose of this thread is to encourage reporting of me by creating drama that shouldn't exist. The fact it was started on two boards and the number of emotive, rude posts to me, demonstrates this. The thread is a breach of basic values, not just community values.

You can see various interpretations of my tags, all of which are wrong. They are simply random flowers that I used to learn about tags.

Tags are an interesting feature of these new boards. Primarily, they help people find the help they need, but they can also be used (as I have done) to group people with skills in specific areas.

Re: Question for the Mods re Malicious Tags..

Only an occasional visitor here, so, unlike others, I wouldnt presume to know the whole purpose of this thread, but it seems some have a lot of time on their hands- as usual, and will post tedious c&p in the hope of starting a discussion

Others, as usual provoke and then pretend otherwise.

Post tags if thats what interests you, but its not only what you post but what- or should that be who you tag that also gives context and meaning.

Its obvious that not everyone is tagged, and thats where the innuendo begins.

Re: Question for the Mods re Malicious Tags..

Some of my posts have gone as well - no emails for me, but gone, and in all seriousness they were not bad posts.

I replied to someone here yesterday and I swear 5 or 6 posts after the one I 'replied' to just disappeared so there are certainly some teething problems it seems.

Also - with the tagging you can see who did it, so is that not a good thing now? As to malicious reporting I was told that the mods have a bot in place to 'flag' any repetitive reporting using the userid and URL so if that is true quite a few BPers may well find themselves gone for good.

Re: Question for the Mods re Malicious Tags..

Addressing the issue of posters being allowed to tag other posters with insults , with malicious intent, is the reason behind this thread..

The Taggers board is for public view , so it is very easy to see who is tagging, who they are tagging, and what their tags say..

IMO noone should be allowed to attack and insult another poster by attaching a denegrating tag/word on their post for all to see..
And I seriously wonder at the logic of anyone trying to justify that..

Also, the tags need to be taken in context..look at who was tagged..and by whom..anyone with half a brain would be able to work that out and not be trying to justify the behaviour

I wish that everyone who made a malicious tag would do the right thing and remove it..

Obviously it reflects far more on the Tagger, than the person they tagged ...

If i had tagged 14 posters I really liked with what I thought were the words 'pink butterfly' in French, for example..and then it was pointed out to me that the words I had used were actually NOT saying pink butterfly, but were actually insulting words in other dialects...then I would apologise for my mistake and remove them?
I would also feel so bad that I would show where I found the words I used, so people could see that I had made a genuine mistake

It is easy to see that a lot of posters have used the Tag option to have fun, and be nice..

But, people who have used the tagging option to place malicious words and insults should act appropriately and remove the offensive tags

It is quite simple really

Look at the context of the tags ...and do a google search..

There is no justification for publicly attaching an insulting word to another posters post..no matter WHAT you think of them..
Anyone with any morals can surely see that..

And trying to justify it, and shift blame STILL doesnt make it right
