Question re the photo challenge

This is not aimed at anyone in particular. I'm just trying to think of ways to keep all the cs'ers interested and contributing. The thread seems to be moving away from the original purpose of taking the time out to appreciate whats around us everyday.

Should there be a limit on how many photos a person can post? e.g. 10

Should there be limit on how many 'old' pictures can be posted. e.g. 5 pics from disk/album, plus 5 new photos

or 5 'old' photos and unlimited new pics.

I know sometimes it's not possible to get out and take something new for the challenge (although Joz always manages to find something that fits the theme) so postng a "here's one I prepared earlier" pic is the alternative and keeps the thread going. Personally I miss the happy snaps from people that spot something on their way to work, or in their freezer, or garden etc

What do you all think? Any ideas, thoughts, opinions.....

If you don't want to post your opinions here, please message me.

Question re the photo challenge

I believe one of the reasons for the success of these threads is the variety. Just take the building thread, from humble sheds and ruins to grand mansions and iconic structures and of course those things being built. If a single poster posts many photos often there is a similarity or theme running through them, it's natural, it shows a person's style.

But if a single person posts many photos particularly in a row it does lose that variety. Not everyone has large data quotas or fast internet speeds, Australian internet plans can leave much to be desired particularly in regional areas, so scrolling through many similar images can become a little problematic for some. Same thing if the images are large.

It's always been an inclusive thread and I think Pimpy wants to ensure that it remains that way. I don't think there is too much to worry about, it ebbs and flows. Some weeks are more popular than others this week has the fewest views of all bar one (I have the dubious honour of winning that one!), maybe it's photo size, less variety, people on holidays who knows.

Hear Hear cosmos.

I have simply been too busy in the last few weeks and other factors no doubt are involved with others.

Love the photo challenge thread and like the tweeking that's happening now to improve.   Smiley Very Happy

I often have trouble loading the photos on my phone, particularly the larger ones. Sometimes they are a bit slow on the laptop but usually it's not really a problem unless we are shaped, then I'd have no hope in the photo thread at all.

And where was that sign 😄

Question re the photo challenge

Ok.  It was me that brought up the Americans.  I confess.

I didn't say they weren't welcome.  Of course they are.

It just appeared, at least to me, that the thread was suddenly

flooded with entries by one US poster, then flooded with entries

from another US poster.    Then there was a posting frenzy

by the Aussies.  It became a feeding frenzy of photos.

But...........maybe that's just me..................as you were

(Just wanted to clarify that I did not want to make the 'yanks'

feel unwanted.)

Question re the photo challenge

I guess, what with the time differences and all, we will get pages of US entries alternating with pages of Aussie photos. It was Jake that noticed a flood of pics from one poster will get less kudos than if they were dribbled in.

The sign was in New York. Went on a few walkabouts while there.

Question re the photo challenge

Now for my 2 bobs worth, I don;t think they should be greatly altered from what you take, some photo's are over processed.

And some are so blurred they make your eyes water.......
