Quirky and Unusual Behavior

Was thinking while walking the dog today...

My parents, now in their mid 80's always said while I was growing up, "We don't need the lights on in the daytime"... and to this day, even on the cloudiest of winter days, if the wife and I stop in for a visit, there they will be... sitting in the dark (and mind you, they can WELL AFFORD the light bill).

Similarly, the wife's parents refuse to turn on their air conditioning unit until it is officially summer.  The wife and I may turn on the a/c one day and the furnace the next during the spring if we are too hot one day and too cool the next... but not them... they're ruled STRICTLY by the calendar.  Again, it's not about the money... they are very wasteful in other regards.

How about you and yours?  Any unusual behavior that you're willing to share?

I don't know that that is unusual behaviour, it depends on life experience to some extent.

My parents are no longer with us but they were children during the Great Depression of the 1930s, which was followed almost immediately by severe restrictions in World War 2. A lot of products were restricted or in very short supply for years after the war, well into the 1950s.

That generation learnt not to waste.

I can recall as a child, whenever we opened a present on a birthday, we had to do it carefully. Mum would collect the wrapping, remove the sticky tape and then refold it for future use. When I think of how life is now, I suspect they were better at recycling before it was even a word.

I am intrigued by the high number of people who believe that world governments have evidence of alien visitations and are keeping it secret. Many believe that some governments have space ships and dead aliens hidden away. The question of whether we are alone was supposedly answered long ago, but the public can't be told because there would be reactions ranging from panic and hysteria to suicide. It's incredible how many of the believers are intelligent people.

I believe in Aliens, I dont know if the Govermant has any.

I think we would be silly to think they is nothing out there just us.

To many genuine pictures of strange crafts.

I dont think they would want any thing to do with us war like creatures

There could well be other lifeforms out there. Some are probably intelligent.

But unless they were so technologically advanced as to have developed faster than light travel (currently deemed impossible), how would they visit? And why would they, unless we are the only other 'civilised' lifeform in the region/galaxy? And if they did visit using cold sleep or similar why would they hide? Or keep coming here?

So many questions, no answers.
