Apparently the quote feature is not there for us to allow others to know to whom we are replying. (I am unsure exactly why it is there.)
Something to do with what we believe :^O
While (the mods) understand that I believe my post did not violate any of the eBay Board Usage Policies, some posts can be removed due to previously posted content that I might have quoted in my reply.
Each poster is responsible for all material contained within a post, including any quoted material.
a single post removal does not necessarily impact my standing in the community.
Many who receive one of these educational emails, take time to review the eBay policies gain insight from the experience. In most cases, members never receive additional warnings once they are familiar with the community policies.
I think I had forgotten what can happen..... but rather than email anyone, I thought I might ask here.... is the educational email considered to be a violation? as in added to the tally for a possible holiday?

Absolutely right Cue -
That's the trouble with the BP system. Anyone who disagrees with someone, or dares to have a different opinion, or has an ongoing beef with said person that has nothing to do with anything discussed at the time, or heaven help if you take part in an ongoing debate - next thing you know GONE! Any tossa can 'report' for the heck of it coz within the bounds of eBays moderating guidelines almost everything is covered.

Maybe (seeing as this place is run by Americans) we can plead the 1st Amendment ๐
Freedom of speech is the political right to communicate one's opinions and ideas. The term freedom of expression is sometimes used synonymously, but includes any act of seeking, receiving and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used. In practice, the right to freedom of speech is not absolute in any country and the right is commonly subject to limitations, as with libel, slander, obscenity, sedition (including, for example inciting ethnic hatred), copyright violation, revelation of information that is classified or otherwise.

NAE, maybe add ebay's user agreement and policies. If members need to know and abide by them so too should any third party contracted to do the job of monitoring that on behalf of their client.

Years back when the Canadians moderated this board, there was quite a bit of discussion over 'appealing unfair account sanctions' originating from this forum, when they were not deserved. (Especially for those of us who use our legitimate ID for posting)
You see, we are Customers, not sheep and it's fair to say we have certain expectations of how we're treated as 'customers'. Trying to slap Aussies into conformity is the first mistake they made. Don't they know our reputation?
As you can see, the appeal process went nowhere = nothing about a 'Fair Go' ever does on this site.
The other thing that was discussed on the forum with the mods at length (remember Shane?) Poor bloke...lol.....was 'serial reporters'. At one point the mods were tracking serial button pushers and multiple ID's to try & stop the never ending trolling. Finally we'd convinced them that they needed to get rid of the trolls instead of enabling their vexatious reports.
At one stage, one hydra had a whole thread about him posted by Shane the Mod, telling everyone that they were NOT to mention that posters name (but which one was the question)....he had so many & of course you can just imagine where that thread went to...
Bottom line though - the mods were present & they took part in the forum. These days they're more like 'big brother'.
