Apparently the quote feature is not there for us to allow others to know to whom we are replying. (I am unsure exactly why it is there.)
Something to do with what we believe :^O
While (the mods) understand that I believe my post did not violate any of the eBay Board Usage Policies, some posts can be removed due to previously posted content that I might have quoted in my reply.
Each poster is responsible for all material contained within a post, including any quoted material.
a single post removal does not necessarily impact my standing in the community.
Many who receive one of these educational emails, take time to review the eBay policies gain insight from the experience. In most cases, members never receive additional warnings once they are familiar with the community policies.
I think I had forgotten what can happen..... but rather than email anyone, I thought I might ask here.... is the educational email considered to be a violation? as in added to the tally for a possible holiday?

Sure did Pepe. But at least it confirmed my point about the nature of button pushers.

they're kind of sad really - sad in a 'point and laugh' kind of way.

yes... sad... but I am learning.... about not quoting .....

Baaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!
AZ......(not having a go) - but surely this place isn't so important that you'll allow anyone or anything to force you to betray your own integrity and conform to their limited idea of communication?
I don't care about 'educational emails'. If they cancel this 'LEGITIMATE' long standing account of mine, then it's their loss.
Our Opinions on this forum should have NO BEARING on our value as customers & if Ebay can't see that, then as I"ve said before, they have a mighty strange business model.
Never submit to tyranny......commercial or otherwise......just saying.;-)

integrity? forums have rules.... I understand what you are saying but.... if I want to continue posting here, I have to follow rules... I do object to the stupidity of the way the rules are worded and the interpretation of same, by some posters/reporters and some mods..
Petty reporting needs to be stopped. I do not appeal all my mail, most days I ignore them.......now and again, the stupidity of them and time available to me, triggers the need to actually say so.
on โ26-02-2013 04:58 PM
btw, my question in the OP was actually asking if an educational email is a slap.
on โ26-02-2013 05:15 PM
az, a-3 mentioned she got an educational email in reply to an appeal too.
so an educational email is something that you might recieve if you make an appeal.
doesnt mean it has or hasnt effected your standing on the community
in the email it would state if the appeal was OT or not....wouldnt it?

Let me ask you honestly....do you use the report function yourself against others, when their post might not be seriously offensive? If so, then you are subscribing to the problem. If not, then good for you, neither do I. I don't report people even if they flame me because it's playing their game & submitting to the curtailing of free speech......EVERYBODY is an individual....science proves it. So our opinion is bound to be as different as our DNA.
&...let me ask you something else......do you get personally offended if someone flames you and feel you have to respond ? If so....don't.....you can't catch a fish if they're not biting. A trolls power is in your response...don't respond and they have no power.
If this forum ejects you then who cares? There's lot of other forums you can have an opinion on & it might actually make a difference. Here it makes no difference.
Have you looked at your local news media site for instance? Lots of more relevant issues to comment on there & the moderation (though reviewed by the Editor in most cases) is less *anal* than this place.
(btw - not having a go because basically I'm not a regular anymore = just doing some work on the net lately so I'm online a lot) = distraction and sometimes a great laugh if I'm lucky.

No Joz, my educational email was the one I got.... not from an appeal. (mentioned in the OP) hence my question.... it was described as educational.
Cue.... a distraction, yes, I have a large touchscreen pc in my sewing room, where I usually am on days I don't have other duties......(between stitching) I wouldn't bother going looking for another forum, myself.
No, I don't contribute to the BP'ing. It is rare for me to use that button......and I would only use it on an extremely offensive post directed at someone else.. or one that gave personal details of someone, uninvited.
on โ26-02-2013 05:56 PM
well if you believe the quoted material was in violation to board policy and not what you typed then it was a slap then wasnt it .................sheesh
