Sad day for Ford Manufactoring in Australia
To the many workers over the many years, thank you for doing australia proud.
To all those who stood by and did nothing to stop this from happening, a great big RASPBERRY!

just a search to give you an idea..

i'd consider a late second hand ranger if a petrol engine was available
so i've narrowed my search down to a V6 hilux
[so many old fords i owned i wish i had the opportunity to store!]

didn't your car give you any indication it was over heating? faulty temp gauge?
I was on a 15 km. straight on a 250 km. drive, middle of no where and middle of the day. OK I admit I was also a bit drowsy after a late night.. Unfortunately I didnt check the temp gauge regularly enough and when I did notice it, the temp was off the dial. Ute was still running fine, but damage was done. Cracked head and soft rings. It wouldnt hold water and used heaps of oil.
Sure I should have kept a better eye on the temp gauge, but the radiators should be built to last a bit better than that. Plastic radiators in a heavy duty ute, PFFFT.
I purchased a new one locally and the radiator joint said they always keep one in stock, as they regularly crack and they sell heaps of them.
