R.I.P. Rete Seegar.

Such a great man. I wonder how many here still remember him.

I certainly remember that song.

My dad used to play and sing to it on his guitar.

Oh seriously!  Did he sing little boxes?  We used to sing that all the time as kids on car drives.

There's a pink one, there's a blue one, there's a red one, there's a yellow one....

I will have to go off and do some research.

I don't know why I know that song but I do. I wish I could remeber where it came from in my childhood. Or maybe everyone knows that song?

Liitle boxes on the hill side

Little boxes made of ticky tacky

Little boxes on the hillside

But they all look just the same.

Then the colours. Then I forget. Although wasn't there something about drinking martinis at university while they studied to become lawyers and the people were made of ticky tacky. Or something or am I imagining that lol?

That's pretty amazing Freaki.  I didn't know that he wrote or sang all of those.

Thanks for that.

I know every one of those songs so I am amazed I have never heard of him.

Re: R.I.P. Rete Seegar.

Found the words to the Little boxes song. I LOVE it. I am going to print it and stick it up on my daughters bedroom wall.

Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky tacky,1
Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes all the same.

There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

And the people in the houses
All went to the university,
Where they were put in boxes
And they came out all the same,

And there's doctors and lawyers,
And business executives,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

And they all play on the golf course
And drink their martinis dry,
And they all have pretty children
And the children go to school,
And the children go to summer camp
And then to the university,
Where they are put in boxes
And they come out all the same.

And the boys go into business
And marry and raise a family
In boxes made of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

I had no idea I was being so non conformist when I sang that song as a 7year old.
